Your honor and fellow jury members, we are all here today to examine the murder of Bob Sheldon, and determine whether or not Johnny Cade is guilty with murdering Bob Seldon and should be charged with second degree murder. His family, friends, and many others are looking for answers of exactly how and why Bob Sheldon was killed. Me and my associates are certain that Johnny Cade should be sentenced to a 10-25 year sentence based on the evidence and circumstances. One reason we believe this is because of the threatening words that were exchanged before the fight erupted. Bob said several things that appointed him the “boss” or really just who was in charge including “Give the kid a bath David.”(pg.55) This piece of evidence shows that Bob is the leader of their group because he gave David an order. This shows that if you kill Bob, the others will scatter or freak. Therefore, he killed Bob on purpose and with intent. Another valid point on why Johnny Cade should be charged with second degree murder is because of what Johnny said to Ponyboy Curtis, one of his closest friends, soon after the incident “I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you. And they had a blade… they were gonna beat me up…”(pg.57) This shows that Johnny was trying to kill Bob in order to save …show more content…
He said. ““He would kill the next person who jumped him. Nobody was ever going to beat him like that again. Not over his dead body…”(pg. 34) Ponyboy’s talking about a time when Johnny got a little beat up by some “rival gang members.” This is no reason to kill another young man no matter the circumstances. This is just a cruel act by Johnny Cade by murdering Bob Sheldon and another fantastic example on why Johnny Cade should be charged with second degree
He was in severe shock and suffering from third-degree burns.... Even if he lived he’d be crippled for the rest of his life.” page;102. Johnny also killed Bob to save Ponyboy from being drowned. Lastly, he stood up for Cherry Valance when Dally was picking on her.
On the night of the murder, five drunken Socs pull up on the street and attacked Johnny and Ponyboy. One of the Socs tried drowning Ponyboy while at the same time Johnny felt threatened by another Socs named Bob which led to Johnny killing him in self defense. Johnny is justified in what he did and is not guilty because he was defending himself from the Socs. The Socs had threatened to harm Johnny and Ponyboy earlier that night and Johnny recognized Bob as someone who had attacked him before. Johnny recognized Bob from the last time he got jumped in the abandoned lot.
Johnny Cade, one of the members of the gang called the “greasers” who died at age 16, 1949 who died from burn injuries and a broken back. Johnny’s parents didn’t want anything to do with Johnny but the gang loved Johnny for who he is, especially Dally. The gang always had each other’s back and his friends are Dallas Winston, Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darry, Two-Bit, and Steve and were in a rival with the Socs. Johnny Cade’s life accomplishments were saving Ponyboy from drowning by killing Bob (a Soc) and rescuing kids from a burning church without think twice. Johnny’s family members were Mr. Cade and Mrs. Cade who don’t care for him and ignore him but mostly the gang were his family because they cared and loved him.
In this case, we understand Mr. Cade killed Mr. Sheldon, need to end the sentence or link the two somehow he admits to that when he says “I killed that boy” (Hinton 56). But I imagine if Mr. Cade had not intervened Ponyboy would have been killed. Yes, David was the one drowning Ponyboy, if Mr. Cade would have gone for David both Johnny and ponyboy would have died due to a full blown war. Because He went for Bob, the head of the group, he scared the rest of them. If Mr. Cade had tried to get help, It would be likely by the time he got back Ponyboy would be
Many people are charged for acts they believe were innocent , but others can plead guilty for all the wrong reasons. Johnny Cade was walking through the park on the East side of town with 14 year old, Ponyboy Curtis. As they were walking, Robert Sheldon of the Social gang, had threatened the two young men due to too much alcohol. The two boys were looking for a way to get out of this situation, but the Socials had already surrounded them along with threatening the two. Curtis was beginning to drown when Randy (another member of the Socials) was ordered to by Sheldon.
They were drowning you, Pony. "One of Bobs friends was trying to drown Pony in the fountain, when moments later Johnny had stabbed Bob in the back, which had made everyone race back into the mustang and leave. This proves that Johnny would really kill someone just to defend his
Do not get around me! EW! Many people with different races hear this everyday of their life. Sadly every race gets treated differently, and it is terrible we should be equal no matter the race.
Georgie Milton did something not many people have the guts to do, he took the life of his best friend to save him from the torture that awaited him, but, he took the life of another man and he took this life with the intention of murder. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, there is no difference between euthanasia and murder; and to this indictment, George Milton has pleaded not guilty. If I am to prove him otherwise, you must find him so. Lennie Small has been described to us as a caring giant. He had no bad intentions; and it is fair to say that our witnesses have provided us with sufficient evidence to support my argument.
On the crisp morning of October 9, 1955, Bob Sheldon was found dead. Cristina Hunt was walking her Golden Retriever, when she discovered Bob, lifeless in Centennial Park. It was detected that Bob had a stab wound. Bob was most likely assassinated by the Socs rival -- a Greaser. Greasers and Socs have a strong hatred for one another.
Johnny made this spontaneous decision because the Socs were trying to drown Ponyboy in the park’s fountain. When Ponyboy realized Johnny murdered Bob, Ponyboy was as frightened as if he was at a haunted house . The consequence of this choice was that Johnny and Ponyboy felt guilty ,and they Both decided to run away for a like one million years. Johnny said, “I killed him. I killed that boy (pg56).”
Johnny Cade was forced to kill Bob Sheldon in order to save Ponyboy Curtis’s life. This incident began when Bob Sheldon and four other Socs came to the greasers’s territory (the East side of town) intoxicated. They were upset that Cade and Curtis were associating with their girlfriends. The Socs insulted Cade and Curtis, and Curtis insulted them back. This led to the Socs drowning Curtis’s head in a water fountain.
He has been “jumped” by several Socs on his way to and from his home, without a purpose. In addition, Johnny has been beaten and left half-conscious, bruised, and cut up. Claim: In the book The Outsiders, Johnny Cade is entirely innocent of murder, as the Soc’s are trouble makers, and he acted out in defense of himself and a friend. Topic Sentence using PQA: The Socs are always causing trouble.
Consequently with all that was going on at that moment, Johnny defended himself and Ponyboy who is one of the Greasers. Furthermore, Ponyboy responds saying, “‘You really killed him, huh, Johnny? ‘Yeah.’ His voice quivered slightly. ‘I had to.
“Night Drive” Prove It! | Vinh Good afternoon all distinguished guests, I would like to thank the judge and jury for coming out today to hear the hearing of why Bob was the killer of Mrs. Tabor. In the story Night Drive, by Will. F. Jenkins, there are many pieces of evidence that help support my claim.
After reading Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird readers are left with one question: who killed Bob Ewell. Everyone has a different theory to what happened that night when he tried to harm Jem and Scout. My theory is that Boo Radley killed him. I think this because he cared a lot about the Finch children, Mr.Ewell was a bad person, and it was night time so he could go unseen.
