Martin Luther King Jr. praised Jonathan Daniels for the heroic deed that cost Jonathan his life. Jonathan is a hero for sacrificing his own life in the process of advocating for those who must have felt helpless in their situation. At the time of his death Jonathan was fighting for diversity. Jonathan had an understanding of the human mind that many do not. He recognized that regardless of history and biology all humans feel pain and that growth as a society only occurs when we accept and embrace all others. I believe that my own personal experiences working to make children and adolescents comfortable and witnessing the effects of trauma and neglect in development has helped me to understand and appreciate diversity in a way that I hope is similar to that of Jonathan Daniels. In both general and special education classes I quickly noticed signs of anxiety and stress in many of the students. The focus in the classrooms seemed to be always on gaining high test scores and keeping the students GPA high. I also noticed how much better the students seemed to learn when they were working in a comfortable environment. When I first started working at the high school I was worried that I would not be able to control the behavior of twenty to thirty students. After realizing that I did not want to control the behaviors of the students I started to work to make each student feel comfortable and safe. I worked to put myself in each students shoes and consider what would make me comfortable in their situation. I found that by respecting each student as an equal that not only would they respect me but also that they worked better with each other when they were comfortable. It has been easy for me to notice how vulnerable the self esteem of many high school students is and I work hard to help increase the self-confidence of every
Martin Luther King Jr. as the leader of the black, heroically and wisely led them against racial discrimination risking his own life. He states, The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy -Martin Luther King Jr. His words tell us that in a time where discrimination was everywhere he stood up when people needed him the most, as a hero, showing his own heroic courageousness. Many people describe Martin Luther King Jr. as “One of the most lauded African-American leaders in history” (Biography.com).
Martin Luther King states “ Martin Luther King Junior dedicated his life to love and to justice for his fellow human beings, and he died because of that effort. “ This is a strong statement announcing his death. It was a tragic thing that had happened, and it provoked people to strive for justice. It was as if the power of the words in that statement caused people to not just be satisfied with the minimum. It provoked them to want to do more than what had already been done.
As I began to think about an author or text that has influenced my calling in life it didn’t take me long to look to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr. He is a man that has inspired me for as long as I can remember. When I think about Dr. King and the life that he lived I’m humbled by his constant desire to serve others and to put others wellbeing before his own. When I think of man that has walked this earth and tried to live their life like Jesus, Dr. King stands out among the crowd.
Martin luther king is a major hero in history. He risked his entire life and his family's lives. He stood up for all african americans by giving hope and political views threw his speeches. His way with words made people want to change and be better in the future. ‘‘I am happy join here today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation’’
Martin Luther King J.r Accomplishments Martin Luther King J.r, was an inspiration to the entire world. He made equal rights not just for Blacks, but for everyone. His quote, “ What are you doing for others”, relates to him as a person. He volunteered his life for the greater good of others. Was he required to do this?
He had no shame in the person he was, he believed that he should be treated as an equal to everyone else; that this world he was living in was an unfair and unjust world. Martin Luther King Junior’s life was extraordinary compared to anyone who lived at his time.
He idolized his idea of an equal world, he did anything, and everything possible to achieve his dream. Martin Luther King Jr, was truly one in a million. Not many people have the courage, or the bravery to do what he did. Martin Luther King Junior’s premature death was a tragedy. Before his unexpected death, equality seemed to have a much larger chance, but that chance was ruined by his premature death.
Students not only need to gain the knowledge for the field that they will be working in, but more importantly they need the knowledge of basic life skills on how to think and react to life experiences. It is important for people to understand that knowledge is power, and knowing that it’s not all about you is one of the best realizations one can have. We are all here to collectively work together for some type of common goal. No one person is more valuable than the other. So the next time we are waiting in line in Walmart, we shouldn’t be cursing about how the cashier is too slow, or that they need to open more lines because we are in a hurry.
But when you look at the bigger picture, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did more than stand up for African-Americans. He risked his life for them, went out of his way for them, and did everything he could to make the life of an African-American person better. Unlike other people around the same time of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. he knew that if he wanted to make change he couldn’t use violence. He knew that violence wasn’t the answer. So he kept his speeches, protests, and marches peaceful.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of firm beliefs and morals. He believed with every inch of his heart, mind, body, and soul that the world could rise above these dark ages of discrimination and move on to a brighter more free time. Though he did not live to see the day, his efforts were not in vain. Today many of the people in today's society still choose to walk on the same path of are hateful racist ancestors. Some have chosen to move past this eternal conflict and that's exactly what martin was aiming for although, not everyone can see eye to eye.
They kept my mind off of the things that were bothering me and worrying me. The students made it even easier for me to continue to stay engaged with them. All of that being said, I believe I deserve a 50/50 in this area. Professionalism 48/50
These situations can become even more detrimental than my experience was. The worst case scenarios have students actively putting others down or trying to sabotage them in order to feel better about themselves and their own
He fought for what he believed in and that is what makes him stand out from others. Martin died trying to stop war and violence in the world. There needs to be more people just like him. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated for his dream of a world free of segregation, but his hope lives on as his patriotic ideals still ring true today.
