What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement. My intended major is Environmental Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara. While thinking back to when my interest in the subject was sparked, all I could think about was growing up in Oregon, where my dad and I lived on a two-acre piece of property in a very small town outside of Portland. I remember being outdoors constantly whether it was climbing trees in the forest or having mud fights with my childhood friends in my backyard. I just …show more content…
I currently work at Channel Island Outfitters which is an organization that provides guided trips to the Channel Islands that are not only fun, but inform the guests of the extremely rare area they’re enjoying. CIO also provides kayak and paddleboard rentals which is where I currently work. I am currently in training to become an island guide for the spring and summer of 2016 as well. CIO has taught me a significant amount about sustaining a profitable business while being environmentally aware. CIO is a certified B Corporation, where 1% of all of their profits are donated to local organizations that aim to protect our oceans. I have also recently applied for an internship with Isla Vista Surfrider Foundation. The position I am hoping to get reaches out to local businesses in an attempt to allow the foundation to help them change their landscaping into something that is more eco-friendly. I have had an interview, and I am eagerly awaiting a response so I can become apart of another team that has the same goals that I …show more content…
This summer I worked at a rental shop at Goleta Beach and one day about 50 high school students with a USC summer camp came to rent kayaks from us. Whomever made the reservation also told a small fib that the students could all swim, which I quickly found was not the case. As me and my partner at the shop, Steve, were handing out life jackets and paddles we heard a few comments under the breaths of the students that most of them actually couldn't swim. Allowing any customer to paddle board who cannot swim is against company policy but we just didn't have the heart to them all no. The counselors ensured us that the kids would be fine so we gave our general safety and instruction presentation that we give prior to every paddle board session and pointed them toward the beach. Initially, everything was going smooth. That was until they got to the foot of the beach. Within 5 minutes of them entering the water it all went to shambles. Kids were flipping over in their kayaks, paddles were flying in all directions, sandals were washing up on shore and it was clearly a disaster. Steve and I ran down to the beach and helped make sure everyone was okay and there were no injuries. Eventually we resettled the group and Steve and I took matters into our own hands. Their counselors were clearly uncomfortable and uninformed with of the ocean; so instead we carefully launched each boat one by one. We spent the
The three careers I chose to examine were IT Security Administrator, Forensics Investigator, and Obstetrician Gynecologist. I chose these careers because I discovered that the employment rates for these jobs are expected to grow at a faster than average 37% from 2012-2022. This is because data security threats are growing and with more digital technology rising, more organizations have become victims of cyber crimes. The other career is what I want to be. Internet Security Administrators, also known as computer security specialists, or Internet security specialists, protect computer systems against attack.
Welcome to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Montana State University! It has been an exceptionally significant year for our College. Maybe a standout amongst the most noteworthy days in the life of our school was set apart by the amazing opening of Jabs Hall on May seventh, 2015. As the new home for our school, Jabs Hall epitomizes a large portion of the qualities that give our establishment to what's to come. It is obviously a standout amongst the most open, welcoming, and joint effort amicable structures on grounds.
1. As of a few years ago, there were few Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers and no IDasS providers. Is that still the case? If not, who provides those services?

It was a beautiful sunny day and Edis was preparing for his boat rowing team meet at the peter jay boat house on the Hudson river. He was super exited to be rowing that day because the weather was perfect and he knew the waves would be easy to handle. If only he knew what was coming. When edis got to the team meet, his coach decided to go over a few drills and techniques in the water. So edis and his eight other teammates got in to the boat, and secured their feet tightly to the bottom so no one could end up flying out.
My first concern or stretch would be in deciding my major. Although I find myself drawn to STEM courses, I am uncertain of which career path I would find most fulfilling. Ultimately, I hope the University of Delaware will provide counsel and assistance in making this decision. Relate a personal experience in which you were denied an opportunity or treated unfairly.
Persuant to the many tragedies that have rocked the charedi world this summer, parents are uncertain whether to allow their children to participate in outings to water parks. One father consulted with Maran Aaron Leib Steinaman, who was quoted as saying, "I am afraid of water." Rabbi Steinman refrained from forbidding swimming, but expressed his personal fear of the inherent dangers, which have already taken their toll, r"l.
Possible risks that could occur because of these hazards are kicked, pushed under, drowning, bruises, cuts, sprains and rope burn. The first way I showed compliance with instructions was when my class and I split the class into builders and swimmers. This showed this responsible behaviour because it showed our understanding of the rules as we were only allowed up to ten people on the water.
Admissions Subcommittee Appeal Toby J Watase WSU number: 01151024 Phone: (331) 454-4625 Why is a Washington State Education important to me? Washington State has been my dream college for as long as I can remember. It has been my family's primary college choice for generations, which I inherited from two notable Washington State alumni.
First, I believe by obtaining my Master in Theology from Liberty University it has helped me develop a stronger and deeper understanding of God’s word. My studies at Liberty have set me up for success in the Doctorate Program at Liberty. Liberty seminary staff has very knowledge staff and motivates their students to excel in their studies and gain a full understanding God’s word. The instructors at the Rawley’s Seminary school has a great depth of knowledge and wants the seminary students to gain a deeper understanding of God’s word to be able to minster to other people around the world. We need strong Christian based teachers to educate not only the Churches, but the entire world on why we need to believe in our living God.
I. Mission Statement with Goals When I entered the University of Arizona my main objective was to take advantage of all the learning opportunities offered during lectures and labs. Here I have had the opportunity to take interesting and challenging courses. My ultimate academic goal is to graduate as prepared as possible in order to put all my knowledge to use in my future career. My career goal is to form part of a public or private agency that helps regulate or monitor the conditions of the environment. I want to be part of an organization that helps remediate all the damage caused by the increasing contamination in the world.
I think that about all five of us were set on unpacking and hitting the pearly white sand and crystal clear water. That was all that happened then. The sixth hour was boring because everyone was just ready to get out of the car. The good thing though is that we could smell the beaches. That meant one thing.
We must acknowledge that there will be times where we lose our position, only to realize where we stand. Growing up life seemed hard, but now I realized how amazing it was; I had a family who loved me and I was never seen different (discriminated), I was always told I had four very impart jobs: have respect for people even if I didn’t like them, do good in school, always ask questions and never forget where I came from, little did I know I realized where I came from after I left. When I came to the United States of America, New York became a dream, but we must all wake up and stop dreaming; I did after my mother past away a year after I’ve arrived. The world became gray, for I was very downhearted and life felt like death because of all the
After graduating from high school i'll like to going to one of the three college /university New college of florida, Eckerd college, and Cornell College. I chose those colleges because they all have two of the majors that I want to study. The two major are Anthropology and chemistry i chose these major because i can’t really think of any other major i’m interesting in. The major that's my first choice is marine biology because i want to study different type of species and if possible discover some as well.
My responsibilities included research and analysis of case studies relevant to a new pricing implementation proposal we were working on for the national energy provider. My consulting experience complements the Creative Futures unit, as they both emphasise innovation in business processes and risk management. I am eager to study this unit because it will expand my knowledge on the development and incorporation of sustainable practices into current manufacturing and sourcing processes, which will be useful when I begin my career. Pursuing my interests, I secured an internship at a fashion event planning company, Stylo International. While working on the research and planning of the first Malaysia Fashion week, I attended a meeting with representatives from MATRADE, the National Trade Promotion Agency, which provided me with knowledge transferable to the Managing Fashion Projects unit in this course.
