A paintbrush on a canvas, a pencil on paper, anything that could be used to express feelings. Art is beautiful and versatile, from a variety of mediums to choose from, the sky 's the limit. It is my way of coping with the world, an escape from reality into somewhere where I decide what goes. The colors gliding off, swimming together to become something different in everyones eyes. Art is communication without words, but with the mind. Whenever I found myself in a stressful situation, art has always been my coping mechanism. When my parents argued or when I was feeling down, the solution was always art. Spending hours blending colors on a wooden pallet, watching it swirl onto the canvas, it became my creation. I love watching my ideas become a reality with a few swipes of a brush or a pencil. Countless hours locked away in my room, the smell of acrylic filling the air. I appreciated fine art, displayed in museums like the Museum of Modern Art or the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They housed the greatest artists and inspired me to continue this interest of mine. Every year I would return, hoping for a new sense of inspiration that I didn 't have before . These great artists started revolutionary movements. Not the political kind but ages of art. Each age was a different type of world, a new galaxy to …show more content…
This small interest blossomed from a young age and has changed me in so many ways. Being an artist isn 't a title or label but doing what makes me feel okay. I paint to make others feel, I draw to make others wonder. It is an expression, even some can may the meaning of life. Although this has brought frustration and struggle, it is that what makes the journey worthwhile. Every second I 've spent, makes me grow to become me. Art has helped me take risks and has created a new mindset on how to live my life. I am more outspoken and I take criticism well because you cannot grow as an artist or even as a person without taking into consideration the changes you have
Austin, Texas, the home of many starving artists and musicians. Austin is known for its respect of free expression and culture. Due to this well known respect, the city is thriving with art galleries and live music venues. I chose to tour the Blanton Museum of Art, a renowned museum that is right in the heart of the great Texas capitol. The museum is currently hosting an exhibit created by an Austin local, Natalie Grant.
I once read a quote pertaining to art. The quote reads “the object of art is to give life shape” by the famous philosopher, William Shakespeare. Not only is his claim accurate, but completely relatable. From experience, I know that a young artist does not need knowledge nor empathy to create a piece.
The museum I chose to view is the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College in Collegeville Pennsylvania. The museum is situated on the Ursinus College 170 acre campus. The college is in a central part of the community and located twenty five miles from Philadelphia. The museum is named after late philanthropists Philip and Muriel Berman.
I had the ability to create my own world in whatever abstract piece I saw fit. The freedom of being able to imagine a certain outcome without consequences gave me the encouragement to move forward. Right then, I made it my personal goal to practice in my sketchbook on a daily basis. To this day, besides the occasional sickness, I haven’t let myself down. Another goal of mine is to completely be able to master my craft; I would love the opportunity to attend a four year
The fact that I can take action through my passion is extraordinary. It has also started me on my path to realizing my dream which is to use art to creatively expose and challenge harmful social constructs. One of my first experiences with dance
opportunity to take a glimpse into Roman military life. The complex includes reconstructions of a commander 's house, a barrack 's block and a gatehouse. The attached video shows a reenactment; men dressed like Roman soldiers wearing shields and weapons, ready for an attack. This could be considered as a form of fabrication but it is made to preserve the past and keep it open to broader public, especially to children. By doing this, the museum evokes interest in history from a younger age.
Not only was I using the skills I learned in class, I saw some of the paintings that we had gone over in class and I was able to tell the person I was with what else you can see in the picture. I was able to experience more than just paintings, I saw contemporary art as well. This was “art” was bizarre to me, because there was a block of wood, and the title of it was “Wood.” After going in there I went home determined to become a ‘contemporary’ artist.
In the first chapter of My Reading Life novelist Pat Conroy writes, "My mother hungered for art, for illumination, for some path to lead her to a shining way to call her own" (15), which I believe is true of any great inspiration. My favorite art teacher I had in high school was Mrs. Bobo. She did not do the best job of teaching, but she everlastingly spread positivity. She constantly obsessed over my art; I think she truly loved it. One day, after I handed in a piece for her class, she held it, studied it, sighed longingly, and told me, "Hadley, you're too talented not to go into art.
Artwork is what gives our life much more flavor to it. Life without art would be dull, and lackluster. Everything would be so basic, bare, and simple. Creativity is what really makes artwork amazing. People really enjoy some artists artwork, and are very passionate about it.
Truly, I enjoy the feeling when I am preparing my drafts and coloring my art work, decorating as well. All in all, I believe that like everyone has something that he or she falls in love with, I fall in love with painting. I believe that preparing drafts for further painting is the beginning of happiness, and it is really important like the basement of a building. Once I am about to draw, I have to decide what
There are a plethora antique art that has emerged from the early Renaissance period in history. Paintings, sculptures and breathtaking architecture are just a few examples of the ingenious art pieces that were created during the baroque age. In addition to these pieces, perhaps the most ornate and delicate works of art born in the early 15th century were the jewels that was crafted. Rings, treasures and talismans are some of the most unforgettable relics created during this influential period.
A controversy over the value of art has recently been sparked by a bill proposed by republican state representative Scott Raecker in Iowa. Representative Raecker has proposed that the University Of Iowa Museum Of Art should sell a certain piece of art in its collection to create money for scholarships and general school funding. While normally this would seem like a sound and straightforward idea, but the piece in question is the prized possession the museum: Mural, a 1943 painting by Jackson Pollock. Because of the significance of the piece this bill has created two drastically opposed sides in regards to the issue. To truly understand the issue, both sides should be examined without bias so that both arguments can be taken into account.
Being a pre-med student has consumed my life with chemical reactions and the increasing knowledge of the intricate processes of the body. Although my life revolves mainly around biological sciences, my love for music and the arts roots back to my early years. My involvement in the arts began from my love of music and has grown tremendously since then. Art, in my opinion, conveys a deeper meaning through an artist’s work that extends far beyond what is simply seen or heard. As my love for music began, I grew to explore other fields in art.
Thirteen came along, middle school became hard, and I started to grow up. As I grew up, we moved around a lot so as I got older, I never really had a best friend. I didn’t feel comfortable enough to talk to either of my already stressed out, divorced parents. In conclusion, I became depressed and was looking for something to relieve everything that was built up. My first choice wasn’t very smart, but my second choice became art.
It is hardly debatable that there is a link between a person’s environments while growing up and how this helps to alter and shape the person they become later in life. This includes not only a person’s personality, but also how he or she interprets events that are occurring in day to day life. One of the most unique ways of observing this link can be seen through art work. Every artist has a unique past and history that allows them to create works that conceptualize their own personal views. Factors such as media, color, symbols, form, etc. reflect how an artist is able to portray something as well as how it can invoke intended emotions from the observer.
