Military Leadership Skills

Possessing strong leadership skills will not only help a career in the military, but also assist success in the civilian world. Leaders can have many types of leading styles but only some types of leadership styles work well. The three categories reviewed in our lecture are technical, human, conceptual skills. When it comes to leadership, I find that I am strong with technical and human skills. I define a leader as a role taken by someone that displays these skills; I use technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills in order to be a strong leader. I have many different technical skills depending on the situation. For example, I work at Chick-fil-a (CFA) and I know how to make food; also by being a trainer at CFA I am in charge of training new employees on tasks that I already know how to do. New employees are able to ask me things like, “How do I run the register?” or “How do I make this sandwich?” because I am experienced …show more content…

Being bilingual has allowed me to help many Spanish speaking families find jobs, complete paperwork, and communicate daily. Being able to interact and communicate easily has allowed me to become team captain and a store manager. Finally, human skills has shown me how easy it can be to interact with others. Having strong human skills has allowed be to become the type of leader that I am today. Conceptual skills is a probably the type of leadership skill that I am the least skilled at and use the least. I know of one incident where I had to come up with a plan at work in order to get my crew to get out on time. Usually, I am not good at things like this but in this instance, I had to adapt in the situation. Under that circumstance I was able to place my team in the certain positions that I found suitable. We were able to close the restaurant in timely-manner; however, I typically have adapt to find a solution for the problem when it comes to things involving conceptual
