When I was in Year 5, a children's theatre company came to my primary school and performed a show about a journey through space. The use of extravagant costume, aesthetically pleasing proxemics and exaggerated acting really interested me. It was this experience that really opened my eyes to the world of theatre and since then I have been obsessed. I want to study Musical Theatre at university in hopes of having a career in this subject.
My studies at A-level has helped me develop a numerous amount of skills which are transferable for a Musical Theatre degree. Studying Mathematics at AS level has assisted me to create a logical way of tackling a task. I'm also studying Media Studies; this has allowed me to advance a method of analytical and critical skills when looking at the process of production of TV drama and film. It has provided me with knowledge about what it is like acting for the camera. I am studying English Language; the course covers a detailed insight

Yearly, we have a college musical production that I always willingly take part in. Previously, I played the Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland, I played Blousey Brown in Bugsy Malone and most recently played Lonny in Rock of Ages. This was the most challenging experience for me as my character was the narrator of the piece so it was my job to ensure the show ran smoothly as I had to amend any mistakes. By being involved within clubs at school has enabled me to enhance my skills in particular areas like singing, musical theatre and varied styles of dance. I have also been involved within amateur productions outside of school such as playing the character of Susan in the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. This allowed me to act with people of different ages and experiences; understand the importance of rehearsal and get used to using unfamiliar theatre spaces when

Acting has always been more than just a passion for me. It is a powerful medium through which I aspire to inspire and make a positive impact on others' lives. The KB Delta Scholarship holds immense significance for me as it not only provides financial assistance but also recognizes the potential of aspiring young people to create change. Acting possesses a unique ability to touch hearts, challenge perspectives, and ignite empathy. As an actor, I aim to use my craft to tell stories that resonate with audiences, spark conversations, and provoke thought.
Kids can be attracted to theatre because they make plays and musicals based on children's books, movies, history they might have learned about, or just have a silly story that will intrigue them as well. Theatre can also teach young people important life lessons in the form of engaging songs. One of these life lessons that
In seventh grade, I was cast the role of a “Who” in Seussical the Musical. I was very excited, but also nervous because it would be my first show. The cast ranged from age 4-40 and was performed for our entire community and surrounding

One of the things that influenced me to apply here for the School of Dramatic arts was how it made me feel. Going to USC on the tour made me feel amazing because i had an extremely good feeling being there. I had been on other tours however when i went to USC it was a different feeling because i felt like i belonged there and i had a great feeling of needing to go there. When i looked into the Dramatic Arts Department i fell in love with what i was finding.
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything” (Plato). If my childhood was filled with anything: it was imagination. From my earliest memories of my cousin, and I putting on a sold out concert on my papaw’s front porch; to putting my baby dolls to sleep with lullabies. Music has always been a big part of my life: it was the one thing I could always count on, no matter where I went; and that still stands true today.
Prior to this class I had never taken a formal theatre course. All of my prior theatre knowledge and experience came from being involved in theatre through either acting or being part of the crew. This class gave me a more formal understanding of theatre. It enhanced my theatre vocabulary and taught me about the history behind it. I also learned about different types of theatres both in the types of buildings and stages as well as in genre.
I never thought I would be interested in Musical Theater. To me, it was all just unrealistic, jovial people inexplicably singing and dancing. In the seventh grade, my best friend conned me into joining a local production of Beauty and the Beast. From that moment on, I loved musical theater. The first broadway musical I ever saw was Les Miserables.
I believe that our school should have a Broadway/Musical Theater Club. Many people ask; “How will this benefit our school?” A Musical Theater/Broadway Club can benefit our school in many ways. One is in history class. Many broadway shows talk about very important events in history.
According to Meszaros (2005), theater teaches people and the society a lot of things. It

I enjoy doing musical theatre because I love it and can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I hope to inspire and touch people with my storytelling. It would be a great honor to make it to Broadway someday but that 's not what it is all about for me, it
