Ever since I arrived at the high school, there has been one man that was my teacher, coach and friend when I needed one. This is coming from a person you really wouldn’t expect to be be this person in your life. Coach Minnich, Mr. Minnich, Ryan Minnich, (only off school grounds). The high school life has been a struggle, but he has made it a little easier. I met Coach Minnich the first day of football practice freshman year. He was a cool coach would play around with you and try to find out things about you. First, he was mad at me because I was playing Quarterback and couldn’t play defense. He knew that I wanted to play defense, but Coach am wouldn’t let me. So one day I talked to Coach Minnich, and he said, “You are a good athlete, but can’t show it if you play quarterback.” I said, “ I know that, and I want to be on the field”. So I finally moved to wide receiver,WR, and could finally play safety. Coach Minnich would come to me in practice and just say,” Couldn’t do this playing quarterback”. He is the reason why I became the player I am today. He gave me a shot at something new. Mr. Minnich, I met him the first day of school in 5th period, Freshman English. He was kinda different from Coach Minnich. His attitude was the same, but his tone was different. He was more like Morrie when it came to school. But the …show more content…
He is good friends with my family. I never really called him Ryan Minnich, but I feel that we are close enough to be on a first name basis. I know now that I could call him and talk to him anytime about anything. Anything he needs me to do I would do because he cares about me and has done for me. He really made me change the way I did think about school and life. He is the perfect example of a high school teacher that goes the extra mile for a student. He is part of the reason why I am the way I am. He helped create Aaron Berry, the student/athlete leader of Euclid high
Overview of the book: In They Call Me Coach, legendary basketball coach John Wooden talks about his most memorable moments throughout his career, and the countless life lessons that he taught to his players. Wooden discusses how his father had a tremendous impact on him as both a coach and a man. After graduating from elementary school, Wooden’s father, Joshua Hugh Wooden, gave him a note that he would keep in his wallet until the day he died. The note included seven ways to live a happy and productive life, and Wooden spent his entire life trying to follow these rules to the best of his ability.

When I played for the Upper Marlboro Mustangs I started off playing 85AAA, my coach’s name was Coach Chris. My first position I ever started off playing in Pop Warner football was offensive line I don’t know why he started me there but I dreaded playing on the line it was not my position at all. Every day at practice we had to run 1500 yards, every single time we lined up I would always finish before everybody else which made me stand out from the rest of all the other players. One practice coach Chris put me and the running back position, the first play I ever ran at running back was a 28 toss which basically means toss to the right.
When football season finally arrived, I found myself on the varsity team. I thought it was going to be a repeat of my past two seasons of me just being another benched player. But I actually started for more than half the season as defensive linemen. Even on games where I didn’t start, I was getting a lot of playing time. That really pushed me to be even better for my senior season.
And when things get harder or easier for me in life the things that he taught me I will always remember and never forget them this gave me a huge understanding of the people that just wanna become better, and those who dont wanna get better and achieve nothing. This goes from my intro from In These Girls, Hope is a Muscle. This shows how the captain of the team was pushing the team, and my personal mentor would be my coach on the way he pushed my team to finally win a state championship from the last state title being over 30 years ago
He was talented, The coach subs the man who couldn't defend Andrew and subbed me in. The team passed me the ball I dribbled rapidly to start a fastbreak. Andrew tried steal it from him I span around him and gave my teammate a alley oop. People on the bench started to gaze at me.

“Unfortunately, Jack, there will not be many opportunities for you this year.” Seconds after being told I had made the varsity baseball team, I did not expect my coach to so bluntly tell me I would be spending more time watching the game than playing it. Our state ranked team had a pitching staff full of Division 1 commitments and future MLB draft picks, and I was being told I did not measure up. The bench became my best friend.
Our athletic director got wind and personally drove and picked me up and dropped me off at the site with the rest of my team. It was incredible to see someone go that far out of their way for some scrawny little sophomore who might have gotten moved up to varsity a little too soon. But, I wasn’t the only one would could tell a story similar to that one. That man instilled the passion inside me to try to be close to the man he

This person has always been there for me, inspires me to work my hardest, and has had many achievements in his life. This person is my dad. My dad, Sean Pitzer, has been the most influential person in my life. He has taught me to do most things I know, and has been willing to do anything for my family. My dad has taught me how to play sports, read, and many other things.
I knew that no matter the cost I would not be denied my chance at becoming the number one linebacker. Then things took a turn for the worst. One week into practice my number was called. I felt overwhelmed with excitement. I knew my opportunity was not going to be wasted and that I would come out on
Now I am on the high school dance team. Which wouldn’t have happened had I not fallen in love with the sport at such a young age. My teacher sparked a fire inside me which would not be easily put out. So, as you can imagine, I had a hard time with all of it. Because without her, I would definitely not the person and dancer I am today.
I remember how caring and helpful they would be when it came to college applications. Mrs. Leon was one of the teachers that impacted my life with her advice and guidance. She prepared me with what’s expected in college level writing and much more. I was the type of student that wanted to do everything perfect to college expectations to prepare myself for the real world.
He also taught me to stay motivated no matter how many times I wanted to give up because of my mistakes. I remember the day like it was yesterday even though it was eighteen years ago. This is one of the proudest moments in my life. It’s a lesson that I’ll never forget. Being taught how to ride a bike for the first time was exciting.
