“No two persons regard the world in exactly the same way…” was once said by J.W. Von Goethe. He meant every person views the world in their own special way. In the novel Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, the quote said by Goethe is present in this book. George and Lennie both have the same dreams but they see the world around them differently. The quotation is also present in the novel, The Pearl, also by John Steinbeck. Kino and his wife Juana see the world differently in reality but they also have a dream to better their lifestyle for their child. John uses characterization to display how “no two persons regard the world in exactly the same way…”
In Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck uses characterization by making George and Lennie best friends who are as close as brothers. But they are almost opposite of each other when it comes down to personality. George is a man who has his head screwed on right. He wants to hold a job to save money for him and Lennie’s dreams to come true. And Lennie is almost a child like when you tell a child not to touch the stove because it is hot and they touch it anyways after they are warned. He loses his focus and concentration constantly thus creating his inability to hold a job to help George create their dreams. Lennie often loses his focus

Many characters in the short story Of Mice and Men meet an untimely demise for reasons that were never expected. Characters in the story that met such a fate include Candy’s dog, Curley’s wife, Lennie’s puppy, and Lennie himself. These deaths and the events that lead up to them bear a certain resemblance to each other. Some of these deaths are not directly related to others, but instead use symbolism to convey the idea that many characters in the story have similar characteristics, so despite their obvious differences, the characters in the story often relate to one another in multiple ways. By using a metaphorical method of writing, John Steinbeck is able to show the reader that some characters, though physically opposite, can be very similar
When Juana finally returned to Mexico, she left with another man and abandoned her children without informing them where she was going until she returned stating there was an incident on her way to run away with a man, with Juana being the sole survivor. It wasn't long before she introduced another man, causing one of Reyna's oldest siblings, Mago, to collapse from exhaustion. This was not just due to weariness, but also to carrying and bearing the weight of being a mother figure to her younger siblings while neglecting herself. It wasn't until Juana declared that if they didn't back her with another man, she'd leave to live with her new partner in her sister's house. Reyna's reflection on the events that had led up to that point made her realize that her mother had changed from the time she had left, contrasting the two and stating that she had never been the same and had stopped being emotionally present for her as she grew up.
Lennie's complication have him to be accepted by other characters such as: Candy, Crooks and Curley's wife. Like a young child fascinated with stories, George has come to comfort Lennie with a tale of a golden future. A gold future of a farm and land with abundant livestock to himself.

After giving up hope on a marriage, Kino was finally able to see his rich marriage in a church with his wife, Juana and child, Coyotito. Kino heard the sounds of Coyotito studying and reading his books, making him feel happy for Coyotito to have a life he did not. Kino saw how his family was dressed in new skirts, instead of old shawls and he imagined himself with a
The result of Juan leaving was major, but it was not what was to be expected. Usually a person falls apart when their spouse leaves them, but Maria becomes extremely cold. She is able to successfully graspure the hypocrisy that women face every day. Patriarchy and masochism is something that is heavy in the hispanic community. As a hispanic woman, I am able to deeply understand Sor Juana’s frustration towards men. For example, hispanic women are seen as sexual beings and some men would expect them to do sexual actions to them. It is ironic because the hispanic culture is big on religion, specifically Catholicism and Christianity.
George and Lennie are the main characters in this story. They are two young friends who were left with nothing except some hopes and dreams. George and Lennie have dreamt of having and owning a small farm, but they were not able to fulfill their wishes because their lives were followed by heartbreaking failure. In the text, ‘Of Mice and Men’, friendship is portrayed in a very confusing way. It is dangerous so as to say.
It is a story of bravery and courage. Thus, Alvarez challenges the traditional views of women such as the view that a man is the head of the family, the view that women are
“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change” as Charles Darwin once said. In Of Mice and Men, a famous novel by John Steinbeck, is about two unlikely friends named George and Lennie, who travel together in search of jobs at a ranch farm. Taking place during the Great Depression, many hardships stood in the way of their American Dream of owning a ranch farm together. However, when George finally realizes the true nature of humans, nothing could withstand the power of dominance. Throughout the story, it was a constant battle between those who will and will not survive.
In this literary novella, Steinbeck digs into the idea of the nature of dreams and that each man must make sacrifices or battle some other outside force to make a dream come true. This follows with the theme that humans give meaning to their life and future by creating dreams. George and Lennie both have vast dreams that influence them in different

(Ch.1, p.4) This is an example of not just how much respect Juana had for her husband, but also how comfortable they were around each other; she knew exactly what he needed and wanted without him uttering a word to her. The author also mentioned, “She was looking at him as she was always looking at him when he awakened.” (Ch.1, p.1) This also emphasizes how much they trust each other and, again, how much Juana respects Kino.
