Career Goals: As a career goal I am interested in being a pediatric oncologist. When I was younger I learned about my passion for learning and research. Because I learned this about myself at a very young age I decided to find a career that is research and learning based. Being a doctor is constantly learning, excitement through new patient portfolios. Everyday I will learn about someone new and find different ways to plan an attack. Oncology is a section of medicine that continues to add new information as each day passes and new people approach the topic of cancer. I decided I wanted to be a pediatrician because I love children. I find that I have a special touch when it comes to kids. Helping kids and planning are two of my favorite pastimes, …show more content…
In the fifth grade our S.U.N class was assigned a community service project, in the project we were told to find a topic that interested us and find a way to help it. I chose to help fundraise for cancer research. Though I enjoyed fundraising I found myself enjoying the research of what cancer was and how it was treated more. Most of the research I have done is gathering snippets of information from the internet on various topics some of which include greek mythology, oncology, the list continues. I have not in my life yet had or taken the chance to draw my own conclusions from research I have done or even formulate questions that do not already have answers. The wonderful thing about being part of this new tech savvy generation is that information on everything is at the tips of my fingers and every time I have a question I can just search the answer because someone else has already found the …show more content…
I haven't always had free lunch because at the beginning of my school career my dad had a very steady job as a foreman on a construction site. However, in 2008 he was let go from his company and for many years he has bounced around different construction companies. The payment for a construction worker is often low and his payment is even lower now as he was in a catastrophic accident at work and is paid only a portion of his previous monthly total. My mom carried a lot of the financial burden for many years she worked steadily in a grocery store for many years until January of my 7th grade year. She has worked at two call centers since this and for a small portion of time as my dad’s in home caregiver. All of these jobs pay very low especially for a four person household making our total family income very
For starters, the internet is always accessible and connected to very fast search engines, changing the way people gather information. Stephanie Olsen, author of “Intelligence in the Internet Age,” states that, “Nearly a century ago, Henry Ford didn't have the Internet, but he did have a bunch of smart guys. The auto industry pioneer, as a parlor trick, liked to claim he could answer any question in 30 minutes. In fact, he had organized a research staff he could call at any time to get him the answer. Today, you don't have to be an auto baron to feign that kind of knowledge.
Today, the widespread proliferation of available information has caused our modern era to be dubbed the “Information Age”. Never before have so many people had access to so many sources of previously specialized knowledge and
Life has its twists and turns, but my overall life goal is simple, help others. I want to make an impact on others life, even if it is a small change. For instance, being able to hold a pencil is the difference between a student being able to graduate from Kindergarten and not be able to continue on to first grade. Being a Pediatric occupational therapist will help me make an impact on children at a very young age. Even small changes can have a large impacts, which is why I want to be that change for others.
My future plans involve attending IUPUI and pursuing my career choice in radiation therapy. I plan to study in the field of radiation therapy, but I may also try and explore some other options in the medical field. Cancer leads to a significant amount of deaths each and every year; destroying families and ruining lives. I envision myself assisting and treating cancer patients. I want to comfort lives, even if it 's one person at a time, as long as I’m making a difference.
After this research experience, I hope to have a better understanding of my place in the world of
In my opinion, I would like to focus on a career that is enjoyable, productive, creative and simultaneously allows you to work for the betterment of humanity. I have always wanted to work in a Health profession. I enjoy working with people and I like the team atmosphere approach of a dental office. Dental hygiene is becoming an exciting career as dental laws are changing and the role of the hygienist is increasing regarding patient care.
I have always wanted to help people and to help them better their lives, but I never could figure out how I could make that passion a reality, until the day I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety at age eleven. After that rough period in life, I learned how I could help other people. I could listen to them and try to help them better understand themselves. Life is much easier for a person when they have people who believe in them like a psychologist or therapist. My college plan would be to earn a bachelor, and master degree in Psychology to become a Behavior Analyst.
As a young child, I had a lot of aspirations and dreams for my future career. Originally, I wanted to become a doctor and planned to whatever was necessary to get into medical school. My father was a doctor and as a young unknowing child, I looked up to him. I was fascinated by the human body and the complexity of the various systems that kept it functioning. progressed through my high school classes, I realized that while I enjoyed learning about science, I was more interested in the human mind and behavior.
Now that I have my mind set on my aspirations, I hope to practice the qualities needed to be a triumphant dentist and dental surgeon. Of course everyone wants success, wealth, and happiness in the future. My long term goal is to pursue a career in the field of dentistry and earn my DDS (doctorate in dental surgery)
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
My long term goal would be to assist with the elderly as I’m very drawn to the geriatric community. My faith in Jesus Christ has guided me to fulfill my passion in becoming a nurse. I truly believe that becoming a nurse will help me to completely understand the value of human life. I
My goal is to be someone's reason to thank God. My priority right now is to graduate high school and transition into college mode. My passion is to make a difference in people's lives. Where to start is the question? Younger children.
As someone who was educated in a Latin American country from Kindergarten to second grade, I realize the value of Education through the differences of the education I received to the education I'm receiving now. Therefore, my career goals are to become a teacher who inspires, educates, learns, and makes a change in the lives of my students.
He encouraged me to make observations about the topic and happily praised my findings; continually, enforcing the idea of research as a way to discover the answers. Without his encouragement and hands-off approach, I would not have decided that field research is the best fit for me. But, perhaps the most significant impact he has made on my life, is his example of voicing one’s interests and pursuing their passion, regardless of what others may think. In the fall of my freshman year, a group of my classmates oppressed my understanding of the subject of cells, not allowing me to speak once about my knowledge about microbiology.
Cancer is one of the most devastating diseases around the world. It doesn’t discriminate against age, gender, or race, but it’s impact is all the same. One in three people will get cancer in their lifetime. Luckily, survival has doubled since the 1970s. This is all thanks to cancer researchers who work everyday to find innovative ways to cure cancer.
