I'm in the car driving toward the high school thinking about nothing except what I'm expected to do today in my game. I have my headphones on and nothing else is phasing me. People could be yelling in my ear and I wouldn't hear them. I'm only focusing on one thing. We all sit outside our locker room with our headphones on waiting for coach to come and unlock the door. Not a single one of us are talking, all of us zoned in with either headphones on or just waiting and watching. When coach comes we get our lower pads on and assemble our uppers to be left in the hallway. Then we go to the basement. We go into room 12 and coach gives us a pep talk.we watch college football pump up videos and then we all go upstairs and put our pads on. Now we have …show more content…
The referees came over and checked if we all had our proper pads on and told us the rules that there would be no profanity, racial slurs or anything to demoralize the other players. The refs then said “let's have a clean game and good luck to you, the game starts in 5 minutes”. I knew that we were a pretty good team but the other team was a very well disciplined team as our coach described earlier in the week during the scouting film. The game clock said 2 minutes, that meant 2 minutes till kickoff. The other team was going to be good but that wasn't going to take me out of my game. I had one thing to come and do and that was to help my team win. It didn't matter if I didn't score I was still going to push my team all the way. The first whistle sounded and 4 quarters of football have begun. When the sound of the first whistle is blown I now know that there is gonna be 48 minutes of non stop football ahead of me. I knew everything else behind me is now and the past and what's at hand is what I'm worried about. The first offensive play is called and we hurry to the line. I'm gonna get the ball on this play so in my mind I keep telling myself not to screw up. The ball is snapped and I take the handoff and run the ball for a gain of 12 yards. Every snap slowly inching up the field throwing and passing until we are 20 yards away from the end zone. In the huddle our QB calls “929 sweep” “I'm about to get the ball” I think to myself. We line up and our QB calls hike. I take the handoff and I run up in through the hole past the secondary and into the end zone. It gave me a spike of adrenaline. Then defense came in and I was on the sideline slowly sipping water and watching our defense demolish the other team's offense slowly and
A day in the summer there was a football game played at Kimberly’s turf located in Kimberly Wisconsin. A 7th grade Kimberly football team was playing another great team called the Neenah Rockets they had a massive running back that had this bushy mustache and they had a pretty fast good throwing quarterback. The Neenah rockets had great talent but so did Kimberly. This game was going to be a great one, cold fans crowded the stands eating fresh popcorn and very chocolatey hot chocolate in very white cups as the game started it was 0-0 after the first 4 and a half quarters and in the last minutes something big happens when we are on defense… WORK ON Before the game started we were in warm ups doing frankenstein's, lounges, karaoke, and four’s etc.
and I 'm also a second string strong side linebacker it was our last game of the season,so we really wanted to go out on the win or a record for the season was one way in five losses and one tie,we hadn 't had a great season so we especially wanted to go out on a win. We got the ball first on kick off and we made a touchdown on the first few drives. On
Drained of energy, I drag my legs across the gym floor trying to run faster and faster. I keep circling around the gym like a track star in a race, trying to get as many points as possible for my team in this game of kickball. I almost make it to home base when someone on my team kicks the ball like a wild ape and it gets caught by a giant sixth grader. As we are switching sides to play the outfield, the principal came in to yell at some boys who were acting just rowdy and pathetic. Once the principal took them to his office we continued our game of kickball.
Bloody, bruised, and battered, Falls Church’s football team fought on in the fourth quarter. A football flew through the air as players crashed into one another sprinting to the ball, except I wasn’t on the field, nor was I on the sideline. I was a freshman watching our varsity footall team lose 0 to 48 on homecoming night, a familiar sight to many Falls Church students for the past 40 years. Those past 40 years are what has made Falls Church football the laughing stock of our conference, and since our school was one of the smallest high schools in the area, we never had the speed, size, or numbers to compete with other football teams. Our own school saw the team as a joke, 0-10 was a common season record, and being a Falls Church football
It took me a second to realize they were waiting for me. They were, for once, looking at me to call a play. I glance up at the clock, it holds at few minutes left, but I see the score and the other team is only down a few points. I quickly think of one of our plays, “Let’s run silver,” I say, “make sure to keep the ball moving and press on defense.” We break from our huddle and get into our positions.
The cheers from the crowd and teams, and the adrenaline pumping through our veins. The chalk lines are drawn, the field has been dragged, its time to play now. Nobody knew about the pressure we felt for that game. Not because we weren 't confident, because we were. It was because we knew that the people around us, including the coaches, didn’t believe we could do it.
When I played for the Upper Marlboro Mustangs I started off playing 85AAA, my coach’s name was Coach Chris. My first position I ever started off playing in Pop Warner football was offensive line I don’t know why he started me there but I dreaded playing on the line it was not my position at all. Every day at practice we had to run 1500 yards, every single time we lined up I would always finish before everybody else which made me stand out from the rest of all the other players. One practice coach Chris put me and the running back position, the first play I ever ran at running back was a 28 toss which basically means toss to the right.
I could no longer afford to pay my cell phone bill because I had ran out of funds. Unfortunately, my phone had been turned off, After one month, I knew my family started to worry about me so I called one of my aunt to let her know I was fine. She said she was very worried and she even called campus safety and they told her to email me. Then, she offered to pay my phone bill so that my line could be turn on, I told her not to bothered because my phone is broken.
I have been waiting since the start of summer for this day, the day to go against Topeka West the school that have been talking stuff for the longest. There was so much hype about this game and it was finally here, when the bell ringed at the end of the day i rushed out of class and got on the bus to head over to chandler our practice field. When we got there we all the football players loaded off the bus and when we got off there was a table of chips, water, gatorade,PB & J and fruit snacks so we didn’t play on an empty stomach. After we ate and got ready coach talk to us for a little bit and then we got on the bus to head to Hummer sports park, it was a loud bus
Texas is known for its agricultural landscape but most of all by Friday night Football. In small town communities like Dimmitt being on the varsity team is a big deal. Being moved to Junior Varsity football after making the varsity team, put me in a position to contemplate my loyalty to the sport and to the coaches I felt betrayed me. It's the first day of two-a-days, and I was put on the varsity team for middle linebacker.
After several games, our most important game was finally coming up. We would be playing our biggest rival, Perry High School. I was nervous. The term “butterflies in my stomach” didn’t quite do my nervousness justice. I had a constant dizzying worry that I would screw this game up and not be able to play again.
But to them all of it didn’t matter to them as long as the starting player’s won the game that week things wouldn’t be that bad. But when we would lose all hell would break lose. Hitting drills all practice whistle after whistle, being blown right in your ear. I felt like quitting and just sticking to my school studies.
All of us were too focused on winning. it was now kickoff and the game was underway. My friend Harry receives the kickoff and runs for a gain of 2 yards. We
The first time on a football field and i was very hyped about it cause i got to play and the coach put me as starter because i was the biggest one on the field. The very first play we got sacked but are left lineman didn't stop the ball they got pushed over and we got sacked. The ball was on the 25 yard line and we were trying to get to the fifteen yard line to get the first down and we were short 10 yards but we could still get cause if we work hard you play hard.
With my speed I started dashing on the edge of the field all the way to side of the goal. I quickly evaded the defender and in the distance I heard “ Cross the Ball” said Player Number 1 . With all the force I possessed in me, I punted the ball to my teammate and with his strength he leaped to head the ball into the goal and scored the first goal! Everybody was celebrating, but we still knew that this wasn 't the end.
