Hap got upset, went into the Library and had a conversation with the Mayor ( not sure how heated as another department employee went outside as he was embarrassed with how Hap was acting),the Mayor came outside from that conversation and told our employee she felt threatened by what happened in the library. On March 28th, 2013 I was walking out of Wabash Middle School to go home. I had just gotten out of track practice looking for my mom’s car. When I got was walking out and looking I realized that my Grandma T was there to pick me up, and when I got in the car I heard the best news of my life. That my mom was going into labor, and we were going to the hospital. On the way to the hospital I was so happy to finally have a sister.
February sixth was the day of my last middle school game. We were playing our rivals , Ledford middle school. The first time we played them we only lost by two points. The first five starters for Ledford and our first five including myself were all standing at half court for tip off. The ref. threw the ball up and Gillian tipped it back to me.

Lynda Barry in her work The Sanctuary of School, wrote about her life as a kid with a toxic family life where she relied on school to be a place she feels secure. She tried to escape from her toxic family by going to school; was the only way for her to relieve her mind. The school granted her freedom to draw and provided her a safe place to stay. Painting and drawing was the only activity that made her happy. By doing these activities were the only way to express herself.
All my 8th grade classmates and I sit on the cafeteria floor at Daniel Wright Middle School, giggling and staring at the gigantic screen. A slideshow plays. Often mortifying pictures of our younger selves appear with our names. I recollect all the vivid memories from middle school and earlier, like when my 5th grade teacher accidentally threw a snowball at one of my classmates. My friends and I sit together, hollering when we see each other on the screen.
In many cases, students dislike going to school, especially if they have had a dreadful experience. Whether they have been bullied, having difficulties with their academics, or just plainly dissatisfied with what their school has to offer to them; nearly every student is struggling within the school system. However, a significant group of children located in the North Shore community are granted an amazing, one-on-one education at New England Academy. Fortunately, I was included and accepted into this selective group. The knowledge, skills, and opportunity that New England Academy has provided me, throughout my high school years, has impacted my way on how to approach the world for my transition into college and the vast, bright future ahead.
