“Let’s go rams!!” was all you could hear coming in to the locker room, hundreds of family and friends along with recruiters outside anxiously waiting for the number one team in Florida to face the second seat it was a much anticipated game and the moment was finally here. We sat in a circle on our chairs listening to the game plan along with a motivational speech from the coach, I’m sure most of us weren’t even listen we were just dying to get out on the court and for one final time show everyone why we were the number one seat in Florida! Finally, all the talking stops and the time has come to work our way to the court as soon as they say “Your Riviera Rams” we all break out in full sprints out of the locker room on to the court with nothing …show more content…
I leaped as high as I could and unfortunately missed the tip the game was already heading south but the game had just started so we had no worries. The first quarter had several lead changes we both had bad shooting quarters shooting below the 30% but that wasn’t what mattered we were all worried about looking good as a team and winning the game not individual stats. About ¾ of the way through the first quarter our coach called a timeout and called us to the sideline and said “Guys you are a great group of kids and have made my coaching experience beyond expectable and you are a bright group of kids so after this season I’ll be retiring and making sure I go out with bang so win this game for me!” and that’s when the game took a drastic change, we began to play with our heart not just our …show more content…
Just 2 minutes left the sun half way set, the crowd cheering and most of all the scouts not blinking paying attention to every detail, play and decision each one of us makes, I see the ball come off the rim and the other team grab the rebound and their other play already across the court just past half court I knew what I had to do. With no thought or anything I break out running across the court chasing their player knowing he was going for a fast break lay-up I knew I could catch there was no doubt about it but the question was would I block the ball or not I can feel the eyes staring at us curiously wonder what will happen. Just like I predicted I see his hand turn upside down getting ready to lay it up I take 2 more steps and leap as hard as I can towards the ball staring at the ball and nothing else all I cared about was saving my team from those 2 points and looking good on the court and on that stats sheets, that was a decision I would later pay for. I did what I had practice and done hundreds of times before at the park I swat my hand towards the ball as hard as I can, I hear when my hand hits it and it bounces off the backboard not thinking about my landing instead of preparing for the fall I prepare myself to start running back across court but that wouldn’t happen when I landed I felt a pop in my knee’s my
If we want to win, we need to just go get the rebound, or go dive on the floor for a loose ball. It does not matter how; all that matters is that we need to just go get the ball. It is when the ball is in the air that the game plan goes out the window, and whoever wants the rebound more is going to succeed. This is why I love basketball, because when the game becomes close and it comes down to effort, I know that no one is going to outwork me for the ball. We could have played badly and not gotten any calls from the referees all game, but it doesn’t matter, because if the game is close at the end, one’s internal drive to accomplish what they want could still propel them to achieving
This receiving core has a chance to be deadly with its mix of size and speed. In addition to the talent we have on the outside paired with a dual threat quarterback and a stable of running backs it could be the best offense in the NFL. One thing is for sure it 's going to watch and I 'm expecting a lot of touchdowns in 2015!!! Go Panthers
Possession was the one thing on everyone’s mind. Time was evaporating, the other team and their fans started to get optimistic. The buzzer announced the end of the competition and the roar from our opponents deafened cries from our team and our fans. We had lost the first game for our program in fourteen years.
It took me a second to realize they were waiting for me. They were, for once, looking at me to call a play. I glance up at the clock, it holds at few minutes left, but I see the score and the other team is only down a few points. I quickly think of one of our plays, “Let’s run silver,” I say, “make sure to keep the ball moving and press on defense.” We break from our huddle and get into our positions.
I was trying to encourage our team, and kept yelling to get a stop and do what we were supposed to. However, I noticed that I was doing the same thing they all were - backing off when the person I was guarding got the ball. So, the next time I had the opportunity, I got up into my man and did exactly what I was trying to get my teammates to do. The next play, Jordan did the same thing, and we got a steal. Then, Alex, Ben, and Sherman all started to follow what we started.
“This has got to be a freshman game attendance record,” my teammates said. Our coach was even astonished, “I have never seen this building so packed.” I immediately stopped the drill I was doing and just watched. My eyes lit up wider than a kid in a candy shop who just received his allowance. Then the noise began to rattle the PIT into an environment of bedlam.
We lost our first game of the season. That game chanleged us all. Would continue to stare at the dirt or reach for the stars. We continued to strugle as team. It was my turn to take charge as a leader for this team, but I letting everything just go bye.
On a cold, frosty, snow cover night in November at Welcome Home Stadium, was when my life changed. That night, two teams played for the chance to call themselves champions of 6th-grade football. All game, my team and I battled against the mighty Wilmington Hurricanes. We fought all game to win and finally we got the ball back with less than under a minute left and down by 4 points. The crowd was quieter than a church mouse as my coaches huddled us up during a timeout, and in that timeout, my coaches looked to me for answers.
Thousands of people are waiting. Thousands of people are wearing jerseys and talking about their favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. My family was part of the thousands on August 8, 2015. We had joined one of the many parties where people were excitedly waiting for Family Night at the Green Bay Packers Stadium. I really didn’t care about football at all, but I was still excited to go and watch with my family.
One Sunday night in October 2015 my dad went to a Packer game with a friend from work. On his way to the game my dad and his friend stopped at a party bus. His friend knew the guys that had the party bus so they stayed for a couple of drinks. My dad has always told me never to set your drink down because someone could put something in it. Well he should have taken his own advice because, he set his drink down for a bit then, when he went to pick his cup back up he ended up picking up a different cup that possibly had drugs in it.
When we first moved here my mom went to one of the high school football games and was amazed by the spirit of the fans. She then found out that it was because the football team had won the last two games and they are supposed to be a losing team. Also at this time my brothers and I had been telling my mom for years she needed to quit smoking which she had been doing since she was 13. So, we designed a contract. The contract stated that if the Wabash High School football team had a winning season meaning they had to win 5 games that my mother had to quit smoking.
Down by 3, 10 seconds to go, Coach O 'Neil called our last time out. “Listen here guys,” coach said, “we need to foul to stop the clock and to make them shoot free throws, if they miss them we need to run down and shoot the 3 to tie.” We walked out ready to play. The other team passed the ball in but it didn’t go to there guy it went flying over his head.
Aidan’s Fantasy Growing up i've always liked football. The Dallas Cowboys to be exact. My fantasy would to play on the Cowboy’s team, and now that fantasy is coming true.
I knew we could do it to but everybody had to show up to play. He said that he had talked to our coach last year. Coach Gade said that “we are a good team.” I thought we could have been a lot better.
