My First Time in Disney World
Every child wants to go to the happiest place on earth, Disney World, and for my fifth birthday, I was one of the lucky children who was granted their wish. I remember my time in Disney like it was yesterday, yet it was day two of my trip that stood out the most. We rode the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. I thought the monorail must be what a rollercoaster feels like, even though we were going as slow as a snail. I saw the castle as we pulled in. It towered above everything I could see and it sparkled like a freshly polished diamond, I remember thinking, “That's where the princesses are.” And then we arrived.

I ran up to her, screaming “Hello!” “Hello.” Wendy replied in a british accent. My parents rushed up behind me, like they appeared out of nowhere. “Would you like to take a picture with Wendy?” my mother said smiling. “Yes please!” I almost screamed. I went to stand proudly by my hero. She moved to put her arm around me but suddenly stopped. “I don’t like pirates very much and I seem to see you have one of their medallions.” She gently took my necklace and pulled it around to the nape of my neck, where you couldn’t see it. “There that's better.” Then we took our picture, both with giant smiles on our faces, mine the larger of the two. Finally we were once again on the move to Ariel's Grotto. Everywhere I turned I saw children like me, fascinated with everything around them. Once we found our way to the Grotto, I noticed a group of fountains that shot up from inside the ground. Other kids were jumping in and out of the water and their bubbly laughter filled the air. I tugged on my father’s arm asking to go play. “Sorry Bean, we have to go wait in line to meet Ariel.” I nodded my head head in understandment, I wanted to go meet the mermaid
