I have always believed that the most valuable thing about accomplishing my goals was less what I attained, and much more what I became in the process. And so, as I began my Freshman year at Baylor University I set my sights on expanding my reach by placing myself in new and challenging environments. I also continued to focus on serving and improving the lives of other people. For me, these two goals have always converged in the field of hospitality. At the root of this is the ability to see the needs of others and innovate new ways of caring for them. My mother instilled in me a love of this calling from an early age and thanks to her career, I was introduced to the hospitality industry. This was the beginning of my passion for business.
I had an early appreciation of knowledge and throughout grade school this led me to embracing my extracurricular education, such as ballet, theatre, and eventually pageantry. Apart from the performing arts, I began working my first job at the front desk hotel. This was enabled by the fact that I completed high-school online. While it required time management skills to balance all these things, the lessons I learned were invaluable. I found that the key to success was to connect to the people I was serving and to learn from those who had come before me. By focusing on these things I have been fortunate enough to win recognition in these areas and feel the satisfaction of mastering a skill. In fact, this is my mindset towards

Furthermore, I was determined to continue expanding my real-world work experience, so I began working for the luxury Waco hotel, Hotel Indigo. It has also shown me that the field of hospitality is even more important to me than ever before. I believe these experiences have shaped me into the driven person I am
As assistant manager of SoakYa Water Park I’ve had to take on more responsibility. However, this responsibility has taught me more about taking charge of situations and how to handle a crisis and find a solution. Whether the crisis be explaining the dress code for the hundredth time, getting someone a band aid for the cut you can barely see or my personal favorite, the lost parents and found kids. I continue to experience new things every day at SoakYa and every day leaves me more inspired than the last. I’m inspired by the people I work with because they’ve taught me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
I was motivated to learn as much as possible about business and how to run
I believe in people. It is this belief that drives my courage and confidence in a world of cynicism and doubt. I know that ultimately, humans strive for belonging and community; thus, while loneliness and anger may always be in existence, so will togetherness and bliss. In this small nation of mine, people speak at least two languages and in addition to the English language, I have experienced the beauty of the Malay traditional tales, Chinese dragons, and Indian cuisines through years of golden rich and poor multiracial friends, stories, and cultural events, ranging from the Islamic Eid Al-Fitr to the graceful moves of Bollywood dances.
My interest in a counseling related profession and helping others spawned as a result of a lifetime of learning and curiosity; namely, mindfully molding my thoughts, actions, and habits into a perpetual pattern of unconscious and unpremeditated altruistic behavior. Furthermore, I have always aspired to determine the roots of all my emotions and master the behaviors of a trustworthy, loyal, courteous, and kind individual. Every day should begin with the thought, “What can I, as an individual or collaboratively with others, accomplish to relieve part of the shared and total human suffering of this world?” If such a mantra was revered by the collective consciousness of the human race, misery and suffering would be sharply reduced, if not eliminated
At a young age, we are all asked the same unfathomable question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” A princess, a pilot, or a police officer are the conventional conceived replies. However, in my case, I knew from the beginning I wanted to be a veterinarian. Not only did I extrapolate this from my passion for animals but also my desire to lend a helping hand to people too . Of course, I did not know where my dreams would come true nor the full impact I wished to make on this world, but I know now that Colorado State University is the preeminent place to turn my seemingly insurmountable dreams into reality.
At the age of ten being raised by minority parents was very difficult for me at the time. At the age of ten I was forced for my English and Spanish vocabulary to be very proficient due to always translating for my parents. At that age learning both languages was annoying, frustrating, and difficult; however that experience shaped me to be a proficient bilingual nurse present and gain benefits by being bilingual. The benefits where the many open job opportunities with the increase pay. This experience also assisted to raise my daughter to speak and write both languages actively although just not the way my parents forced it on me.
I am passionate about making a difference to people’s lives. Nursing is a career that fulfils this ambition. Having been part of a large family I have been learnt to help others and to do the best I can in everything. I am inspired to be a nurse by my mother who shared her experiences about her nursing career. Her advice and experiences are still an inspiration.
As a fifteen year old, I never thought I would be thinking about college so early, what irony! I stood a little surprised when my teacher gave me a paper which said I earned the opportunity to go to college early. I actually did not know that was possible; I decided to learn a little bit more about the program, Puma College Connection Program. After learning a little more about the program I knew I needed to take advantage of the opportunity. I talked to my parents and they both agreed, so I feel encouraged and hopeful for my future.
Creating a personal and motivational drive to succeed is an essential aspect of my life. Being actively involved in high school has lead me to this drive. Through these experiences in high school, I am more than capable to succeed in college. At North Fort Myers High School, the fulfillment of experiences has lead me to attending the University of South Florida starting in 2017. Nursing has become not only a passion, but a future career.
In Adams’ quote, he reasons that there are two ideas of an education, one that gives skills and resources to get a job, and another that teaches individuals how to live a fulfilling a life. To me, this quote represents two corresponding outlooks on my own education. I believe that in order to be happy and successful it is important to take these two educations and maximize their potential. In order to learn to make a living you must take advantage of all opportunities in a class, internship, or extracurricular activity. Another major component of learning how to make a living is through networking, where students make social connections with other professionals enrich their present or future careers.
Education has always been indubitably important to me. Unlike my other classmates, I enjoyed going to school every day throughout grade school. I have always focused hard on my schoolwork, so that I can do my best.
True happiness comes from helping others. Life tests resilience, commitment and dedication as we strive to reach our goal. One of my goals is helping people as I pursue my aim in life. I strongly believe in the significance of volunteering and helping others. Upon my move to the US, being in an unfamiliar area and culture, I had a hard time figuring out how or where to offer my assistance.
The experience has proven that I am adaptable, and I have the ability to solve complex problems in a stressful situation.
Pursuing a higher education has always been my top priority, and I believe that University of Washington Bothell would help me achieve my aspirations. UW Bothell would not only allow me to expand my knowledge on critical thinking and literacy, but also become an empowering leader giving me the necessary skills to give back to my community and country. Growing up, I imagined myself becoming a nurse or a doctor, but that recently changed after reassessing my goals and passions. Making a difference in a person’s life has always been my goal, but instead of making a difference in those who are sick in the hospital, I find myself wanting to make a difference in those who are going through poverty, abuse, foster care, and many other life debilitating
An opportunity to expand my understanding of the world is an opportunity that I am quick to embrace, and cherish as potential for growth and exploration. I had never discovered such opportunities in the small town community where my sister and I grew up, and where my parents were born, raised, and wed. This small town sentiment had always provoked my curiosity in exploring the multifarious cultures and traditions of the world. However, leaving the close comforts of our all too familiar town was a rare endeavor for my family. Notwithstanding, I had always known there were bigger ideas, beliefs and educations to be sought, but they always appeared intangible. The first opportunity I had to experience diversity of more than the five thousand people
