The Progressive Platform is an institution that is willing to persevere the rights of every individual, just as it should be. There is a great division in the nation not just politically, but also economically. America has become the land of the wealthy not the land of the opportunities for the poor; as seen with the railroad tycoons in the Gilded Age which became extremely powerful. Federal land grants and friendly loans led the rampant corruption within the government, while the poor were left to do the hard labor at a low wage allowing the rich to become richer and the poor to become poorer.

That there will be equal suffrage for men and women, showing that one group will not be taken advantage any longer and that women will not have to suffer the low income that they receive. The minimum wage standards for women will become to be considered a “living wage” not the small amount that would not pay for their needs. The industries will no longer take advantage of their workers “We do not fear commercial power, but we insist that it shall be exercised openly, under publicity, supervision and regulation of the most efficient sort, which will preserve its good while eradicating and preventing its ill.” (The Progressive Party Platform of 1912). There will be no unfair usage of corporations, that the Progressive Platform will manage the commercial power, because with great power comes great responsibility.
