.On any given day there will be a group of students working on their associates degrees that have been there long before I started to attend Wayne County Community College. They are a little older than I am, most being around the age of 23. They spend their time playing video games while I stand mind going to class. I consider this group to be friends but I am scared this is what my future will be like if I remain at this institution. I do not want to lose sight of my goals.
Goals that include completing my associates degree then progressing with my bachelors so I can complete my masters. Another objective of mine is to become a round well-rounded person. This institution was created only to be a student 's academic home for a short amount of time. This is good for an order students who only needed college for the credits offered. However, for younger students like myself, there is a need for social fulfillment as well.
Wayne County Community College black student organizations. Besides a small number of sports teams, there is little way to find like-minded individuals. Once like-minded individuals are found they might not be as driven as you are. The lack of student organizations is one way to help students focus on course work even though some still manage to get distracted.

I have received fifty three credits and I 'm currently in the need of nine more. Three classes which I intend to complete during the summer. This community college does not offer the degree I plan to pursue. While this institution has been a wonderful experience it is a transitional point rather than the end. I hope to finish my bachelor 's degree while gaining new experiences. A four-year university would allow me to do both. Transferring is the most logical course of
After listening to the wisdom of Husky, one can recognize that he offers valuable insights, but also provides some inaccurate information regarding academic affairs in community college. Beginning with the valuable information, he is correct when he states that the cost of community college, in both tuition and price-per-credit, is significantly lower than a four-year institution. He is also partly correct about the curriculum. For students enrolled with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution, general education courses in the liberal arts are offered that will transfer to their desired school. He explains that these liberal arts courses are generally smaller than those offered at larger schools, and provide for more interaction with the instructor – both claims are true.
An integral part of improving and sustaining Morgan’s infrastructure and operating processes is creating an environment where students can comfortably voice their concerns and witness gradual changes. I will ensure students from all backgrounds recognize Morgan State University as their “home away from home” by holding informal Town Hall Meetings. These meetings will take place in different areas across campus that target different populations where students are surrounded by the Student Government Association and their peers. For example, immediately before or after Jummah Prayer on Friday’s at 1pm would be the perfect opportunity to have international students from Saudi Arabia voice their concerns. Students will have the ability to confidently share their opinions and complete surveys that outline their expectation of the university.
As of right now, I am leaning toward picking Bowling Green over Tiffin because it is a better fit for me and my personality. One reason I’d like to attend BGSU is because it is pretty close to my house. I would really like to get away from home, but I’d like to know that if I ever needed to come home for any reason, it wouldn’t be all that difficult. I also want to meet new people, and BGSU has about 14,099 people (“Bowling Green State University”), while Tiffin University only has about 3,014 people (Tiffin University”). I am excited to live in a dorm, and if I do this I will have a better chance at
In short, Life experience in college offer so many opportunities to students, I will always maintain that college is matter. However, in the other hand to respond to Liz, I don't think two years college are better than four years university. I see college as a short bridge to go through before university, it is a beginning of a dream for some people who will later seek university to master their knowledge. And also, I think it is smarter to think to go college before
In plenty ways the long term effects can turn out to be a horrendous help not only to you but to your college as well. When you’re older & possibly needing a career after the pros
When I graduated from high school college did not cross my mind. I wanted to join the Marine Corps and serve my country for as long as I could because both my grandfather and uncle we’re both in the Navy. But since complications happened I ended up in Massasoit. I chose Massasoit because it has one of the best transferring programs and has the major I wanted to get into which is Early Childhood Education. When I applied for Massasoit I did not know much about community college, I just thought that it’ll be similar to highschool which is not at all
I agree that I want to make a change; all I have ever wanted to do was make a change. I may not be the most decisive when choosing a degree, but my basis will stay the same, to make some sort of change big or small. College is a way for me to try things out and to find what I am talented at and enjoy. Applying to a university like SPU is a risk. I have never lived or been away from Hawaii for more than two weeks.
College. Time is one of the most valuable things we have in this life. Why waste the time on a college when you 're not even sure of graduating .While many parents would disagree with the idea of not going to college, the research shows “Over 25% of students who enroll in college do not return for the second year. ”(Schneider).
This is a program that helps students transfer from a community college to a four-year college. Students can get their associate's and bachelor's degree with 120 units. And students who complete an AA-T or AS-T can get a special GPA when applying to CSU impacted campuses or majors. If you are a high school student, still take college-track courses and talk to a counselor about your plans. If you are a community college student, talk to your counselor about which transfer major is the best.
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
When I decided to go community college, I knew that I would not be satisfied with only attaining an associate’s degree. It took me ten years to return to school, and I decided that I would make it the best experience of my life. Therefore, I set my goals high: I would work hard and apply to schools that I previously thought might just be a dream. Each school that I have chosen appeals to me for various reasons.
I just want to start off by saying that this class has been so helpful and I have been able to learn so much and also see different perspectives with all of your help. It has truly been a pleasure working with all of you this semester! Even though I had ACC 201 background knowledge with me starting this class I was still nervous because math is not my strongest subject, but there was no need to be nervous. Although the material may have been challenging at times this class provided all the necessary materials and help so I could be successful in this class. I want to specifically thank Professor Chester for always answering all of my questions and making sure I grasped the material.
My first year at Simmons College was relatively a success, but I aspire to challenge myself in the many different spheres of my life. Thus far while attending Simmons College, I have done everything that is considerably “right”. I received straight A ’s my first semester, had spent countless amount of all-nighters studying for tests, participated in different organizations and taken on leadership roles. Despite all of this, I do not feel that I am engaging in my academics and social life to the most of my ability.
so when I start my career I can be prepared. My mother was not able to go to a university when she graduated high school because she became pregnant with me. Because of her struggles, she has always instilled in me that graduating from a four-year university is the most important thing to do in my life. If I went to college, I would have a bright and successful future because I would be fully developed into a responsible and well-rounded young
