Romeo And Juliet Comparison
Romeo and Juliet For this essay I’m going to compare the characters from the original play, Romeo and Juliet, the film Romeo + Juliet, and the novel Romeo and/or Juliet by Ryan North. I’m also going to argue why Romeo and Juliet is the most interesting to me. In most of the versions I have mentioned, Romeo and Juliet are the children of two feuding families. They fall in love and run into obstacles at every turn. Eventually they commit suicide, and their deaths end the violence between the two families. The three different versions have some stuff in common, but there are differences as well. I am going to compare Benvolio from the play the movie, and Juliet from the play to Romeo and/or Juliet. In the play, Benvolio was intelligent, and he sought peace and understood the consequences of the violence. In the movie he did not like violence but he was portrayed more as a meathead. There are similarities to the play version of Benvolio. He was the person who tried to make peace with the Capulets’ in both versions. In the play Juliet was very obedient, and mild-mannered. In Romeo and/or Juliet, Juliet was very outgoing, disobeyed her mother, and never met Romeo. In the play she instantly fell for Romeo, but in the book she fell in love with a guy named Orlando, who was bad at poetry. In the play she seems kind of pampered and thin, but in Romeo and/or Juliet she was very buff and ripped. She really enjoyed working out and lifting weights. She also didn’t die in the end of the book. There were similarities as well. In both versions Juliet didn’t want to be married off by her parents. She wanted to choose someone to marry by herself. In both versions she ended up choosing someone to marry herself. The book was very different from the other two

In the 1968 version Romeo is far away from Juliet, and he hides behind a column, she is dancing with some people, but she is too far away, and has lots of people between Romeo and Juliet.
