Sabrina Aisenberg’s Disappearance Case Sabrina Aisenberg was only months old when she disappeared from her Florida home back in 1997. Her disappearance has remained a mystery in which her whereabouts is still in question. Days after Sabrina’s disappearance, a couple of leads led Hillsborough detectives to believe that Sabrina’s parents Steve and Marlene Aisenberg had possible involvement with the disappearance. However, no legal action was taken for a lack of evidence to support foul play. Nearly two decades later, the disappearance still remains an open investigation in which new leads have been reported of the disappearance. In a current episode of a popular television series, the case came back to the public’s attention after an episode …show more content…
All three aspects of the criminal justice system came together to try and resolved the mystery of the disappearance of Sabrina Aisenberg. For example, the local police department led and still leads the search for Sabrina, they are responsible for following all leads and gathering evidence. The court system was used to seek a warrant to place listening devices in the Aisenberg home. In addition, the prosecution team which is part of the court system filed charges against Marlene and Steve Aisenberg for conspiracy and false statements. However, the charges were later dropped as a result of a federal judge’s decision to exclude surveillance oral communications from becoming evidence of the disappearance of Sabrina. The corrections system played a role in the case in 2008, when a credible jail informant tipped of correctional staff about an incident in which the informant claimed that the Aisenberg’s sold him a boat to disposed of Sabrina’s body at sea (Mikkilineni, 2009). The case was later reopened and brought back into the public’s eye for consideration. To this day, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office along with the department of National Center for Missing and Exploited Children still receive leads regarding the whereabouts of Sabrina. Sergeant Samuel Balley from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office who leads the investigation says that “there have been over 4,000 interviews conducted on the case at this point” (Mikkilineni,
On October 28, 2007, 23-year-old Stacy Ann Cales Peterson, of Bolingbrook, Illinois was reported missing by her sister. Stacy was the fourth wife of Bolingbrook Police Sergeant Drew Peterson, who was 30 years his junior. They married in fall 2003 and had two children together, a son born in 2003 and a daughter born in 2005. The disappearance of Stacy raised suspicion of foul play among investigators, family and friends based on the fact Drew Peterson’s third wife was found dead just three years before (FindLaw, 2015).
Sargent Orth was in charge of writing a log of who had contact with the victim's vehicle. When Lieutenant Lank conducted a search in Steven's residence, he did not sign in the agenda, but he did sign out. Fassbender, a special agent, had a record of who came and left the site. When asked about this record in court, it didn’t recall to him. The officers told public media that Manitiwoc County was not involved in this case, but they were.

The two girls went missing on February 13, 2017. Some of the investigators believe that the girls had met the guy online and then met up with him. The police aren’t releasing everything that they know. I believe that they never knew him considering that they knew
The horrific case of Caylee M. We get notified on our phones, television's, and even on the radio sometimes that there is a missing child. This system has saved the lives of so many children. This notification is called an Amber Alert. You would think that this would have always existed but it didn't even take effect until the late 90’s. Even after that it wasn't nationwide until later down the line.
On 08-23-07 at 1955 hours I, Det. Frankie Sanchez was dispatched to “Little Hattie” a neighborhood in Miami Florida located between Corvette Drive between 73rd Street and 3rd Avenue. I was call in to support my fellow detective Armando Aguilar, who is the lead officer on homicide case .I was brief on the case when I arrived on the scene, the victim was found in the dumpster by a store owner during the evening who recalls smelling a disgusted odor. The case that I chose to analyze is the murder of Carrie and Steven Turner March 6, 2015 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Carrie (52) and Steven Turner (61) were from Durham, North Carolina, but had recently moved to Roxboro, North Carolina because their home in Durham was burned down while they were on a vacation cruise. They owned a store in Roxboro, and had planned on selling it and moving to Myrtle Beach to retire. The chain of events leading up to their death is long and suspicious, and I believe that none of the police departments involved followed the proper protocol, or else these deaths could have been prevented. First, their home was burned while they were on vacation, and is still under investigation to see if it was an accident or arson case.
On November 25, 2006, Sean Bell was having a bachelor party in Jamaica. Bell was killed and his two friends wounded in the early morning outside a Jamaica strip club that had hosted his bachelor party. He and his friends went outside to their car and their car was shot over 50 times by cops who had thought the men were armed. Of the fifty shots fired by police at the unarmed groom-to-be and his pals in Queens on November 25, 2006, Oliver fired 31, and even stopped to reload. Like most of the officers involved in the shooting, Oliver left the NYPD with his pension intact and will collect $40,000 a year starting in 2014.
The outcome of a badly tainted police department, a sequence of disappearing children, and a gruesome discovery on a small farm during the prohibition era lead the city of Wineville to change its name to Mira Loma on November 1, 1930, due to negative publicity surrounding the murders being a huge factor. Unbeknownst to anyone until September, 1928 The Los Angeles Police Department’s lack of competence consequently condemned the lives of those missing children. During the course of three years between 1926 and 1928 a sequence of child disappearances was on the rise revolving the Los Angeles and Riverside counties. On March 10, 1928 in Lincoln Heights, California the disappearance of nine year old Walter Collins evoked the city that remained
Recently, the case has been reopened and has had multiple tv shows shed light upon the cold case, including HLN’s series, “Unmasking a Killer” and HBO’s “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark”. The newer shows
On December 24, 1968, a 10-year-old girl named Pamela Powers went missing in Des Moines, Iowa. Without anyone being able to see what was in the bundle he drove 160 miles east of Des Moines where he abandoned his car. Henry Williams called a lawyer named Henry McKnight, who then informed officers that Williams was going to turn himself in. From the Des Moines Police station McKnight called Williams to inform him that two Des Moines Police officers will be driving to his location to pick him up.
On April 22nd 1993, eighteen-year-old student Stephen Lawrence was murdered by a group of five or six white youths in an act of racial hatred. Stephen Lawrence was racially abused before the entire group savagely beat Lawrence stabbing him twice which caused him to bleed out from four major blood vessels. Stephen Lawrence’s body was discovered by an off-duty police officer who did not attempt first aid, instead, covering him with a blanket. He was taken to hospital but declared dead on arrival. In the aftermath of the murder of Stephen Lawrence, several residents came forward to provide the names of local gang members who had a long history of racially motivated knife crimes as recently as four weeks prior to the murder of Stephen Lawrence.
Summary: In 1983 a young 11-year-old girl, Sabrina Buie, was found in a soybean field in a rural area of Red Springs, NC. She had been raped and murdered. There was no physical evidence as to who committed the crime. However, suspicion was cast upon two half-brothers, Henry Lee McCollum, 19, and Leon Brown, 15, who had recently moved to the area from New Jersey and were considered outsiders.
Many years later Misty Croslin was arrested for drug-trafficking. The lack of evidence made this case very difficult to understand. The only thing the investigators could rely on was the alibis given. However, there has been new evidence that indicates that Haleigh’s disappearance had something to do with an Indiana Corporation.
