Shitfaced Shakespeare a Midsummer night 's dream has been one of the funniest plays! I had a great time, I was laughing all time long. Everything was super funny. I was also able to understand the Shakespearean language and maybe that 's also why I had a great time. I thought it was hard to understand at first but it eventually got easier and the play became super funny. This play was filled with action everywhere. The lightning was set up really good because I was able to see everything that was going on and it all looked great. There were many lights in the venue and that was good because you were able to see everything more clear. I was able to really put attention to what was going on. The disco ball wouldn 't distract me, I continued …show more content…
The scenery was weird when I first came in maybe because I wasn 't expecting to see boobs been drawn on trees and also penis on trees. Everything went well with what was going on in the stage. The outside venue was nice not like some others I 've been to. The play was interesting and really funny, well the actors made it funny. The actors would interact with the audience. For example at the beginning of the play there was a lady who was in charge of the drunk person. She handed out a violin and another instrument. She handed them out to two people those two people could only play them twice. Every Time someone would play them the lady would give the drunk person another drink. The story in overall was Shakespeare a midsummer night 's dream but they gave a little twist. They would get an actor or actress really drunk before the show. The actor would continue to drink all throughout the show until they can 't take it anymore. They even had a basket in the ground just in case the drunk person decided to throw up. I thought the story was super funny in overall because the secret spell they put on the girls and they ended up kissing each other instead of staying with the guys. The girl seemed like she was faking she was drunk. It didn 't really seem real that she was drunk mostly because the way she was acting. It just seemed that she was getting to the point but she wasn 't really drunk. One thing that was super funny was the fact that she didn 't like her hat she had to
I loved the placement of different props on stage, like how the first scene where Vivian is first diagnosed was off center to the right. The single spotlights added more emphasis on certain points in the play and I thought that added more to the environment, especially when Vivian would have another monologue and she would step forward towards the audience while the extras moved around the props in the back to change the scene. For sound, I thought the background music for the ending scene really captured the mood for the death of Vivian Bearing. It wasn’t exactly a grieving style of music but it was calming at the same time. Also, the lighting and sound effects for the x-ray scene was outstanding.
Furthermore, the moody sound cues and the hard lighting of the background was a perfect combination to most of its electrifying scenes, such as the cross-examination scene of the main antagonist, in order to reflect a mostly conflict ridden and angry scenes. For me, this is because the entire play is staged as when it is written, where its historical significance is key to the plot. Thus, as a spectator, I was swayed by the timely vibe of Australia in the eighties, complemented by the timeworn
On October 22nd, at 7:30 pm, in Tarbutton Hall, I watched the play called, “Wit,” by Oxford College Theater. This play was written by Margaret Edson. Having read the play before, I was interested to see how Oxford Theater produced the play. The cast did a very good job being in character the whole time, and communicating to the audience. I could feel the emotions each character was going through.
There were also scenes including partial nudity, sex and drugs. The directors choice to visually display some of the more graphic content of this play instead of merely alluding to it, gave the piece a raw and relatable feel. The audience was able to put themselves in the characters shoes and truly empathize with their
Melisa Pierre-Louis Professor Brett English 10 December 2nd, 2016 A Midsummer Night’s Dream Annotated essay. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare is a comedy that contains a lot of aspects. They communicate in one way or another to the audience, depending on how we (the audience) analyze what Shakespeare is trying to convey.
The scenery of the play performed in the Globe varied greatly from the scenery showcased in the Hollywood version of the play. The scenery for the play performed at the Globe was bare bones, and there was not very much that the director could do scenery wise because the play was confined to a single stage. During the wedding scene of the play the stage was decorated in flowers to make the wedding feel elegant, causing the wedding scene to stand out compared to the other scenes. In the movie version of the play their wasn't a limit to where it could be performed unlike the play, and it was able to be performed in an actual forest instead of just in a stage. Background sounds such as the chirping of birds and the growling of animals added to

People that lived in the town that they put this play on in came and payed money to watch it, however once it started, the people soon realized that they had been scammed. The men were rolling around across the stage naked. These are just a few of the many bad lies told throughout this
Middle Tennessee, otherwise known as the city of Nashville, is full of places to adventure and explore. Though I have not lived here long, I have caught a slight glimpse of all the area has to offer and will only discover more as the years go on. Lucky for me, I had an assignment to go visit at least two of the top ten place in Middle Tennessee to visit and was able to dive into some of the history and culture in Nashville. The two places I chose to visit, though a hard decision, were the Ryman Auditorium and The Parthenon in Centennial Park. Both locations were beautiful in their rich history and incredible architecture.
We are going to tell you about something beautiful that they saw. The story will be about fall and something beautiful. The story will also be about deer that they saw. This took place on a nice fall day outside in Indiana.
Jesus Hopped the A Train was my first experience with a staged reading and I must say that I really enjoyed it. I liked the casual atmosphere that the staged reading presented and still felt like I got to experience the play very fully. I think that Jesus Hopped the A Train was a good pick for a staged reading because the show didn't need very specific to set and was based mostly on dialogue. It didn't need very many props or elaborate production to maintain its integrity. I also think that the current subject matter was an excellent choice for the audience and was relatable.
I was really glad that I sat at the back because when the raving ones were on stage they got really close to those in the front. The whole play was really enjoyable, especially when
Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream film adaptation creates a fantastical spin on the well-known Shakespeare play. The director is able to create an effective dream-like setting with the use of projections, lighting, and puppetry. From the beginning, there is a sense of wonder created, as without word or introduction, Puck, played by Kathryn Hunter, glides onto stage and lays down on a mattress supported by branches. Puck is then lifted into the air and a large white sheet consumes the stage. Even for those familiar with the play, such as myself, it immediately commands your mind to travel to the dream world Taymor has created.
