It was not until 1963 that groundbreaking steps were being made in 2,660 acres of land to establish what is now known as, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUe.) In 1965, SIUe campus opened Peck Classroom Building and Lovejoy Library. SIUe is located in the metropolitan 25 minutes East of St. Louis, MO.
