Is Google making us stupid or is it making us smarter? That seems to be the question that many of us are asking. As time progresses, we have become more advanced in the technological world. Individuals are becoming more efficient is utilizing the tools that are now available at our fingertips. In the world today we are using many different electronics, internet systems and tech savvy gadgets. Times are constantly changing and we as people are trying hard to change with it even though some people may still be a bit reluctant. With these constant changes, people are also thinking of new ways to work, new inventions and new innovations to complete. In the modern society, the internet is becoming more and more resourceful and reliable daily. What used to take people days to research and locate can now take someone a matter of hours or depending on what they are looking for a matter of minutes. What are we actually getting from all these high tech advancements in the world of internet? Do we really need smarter technology? Should we consider the vast growing technological advancement as a beneficial contribution or an affliction? These are just a few of the questions I find myself asking. The prevalent effect of "factitious comprehension" in the use of the technology we use today was scrutinized by two distinguished authors, Jamias Cascio and Nicholas Carr.
In this article, "Is Google Making Us Stupid" Nicholas Carr explains how the internet and technology in the society that we live in have many different effects. He also elucidates that the overuse of such technology is potentially very dangerous and could affect how someone 's mind can be manipulated and affect how their mind may function.
