In my speech I discussed smoothie. I wanted to accomplish the goal of conveying to the audience that smoothie can be a nutrient-dense, on the go meal while providing the body with vitamins and mineral necessary for proper nutrition. I wanted to continue to work on having my speech sound more casual, not rehearsed and also try speaking at a slower rate Along with that; I wanted to continue not to let my nerves get the better of me. Before my speech, I was extremely engaged in the speaker that went before me. Each speech was impressive in their right. The sentence leading up to where I felt this connection was, “because of a chronic medical condition and I was initially treating my symptoms with the medication I quickly found out that medication was not the answer to relieve my symptoms. The side effects were horrific.” I feel this information peak their interest on how a smoothie help alleviates chronic medical condition. The body language of the audience boosts my confidence at this point in the speech. I do believe my speech went horribly, but there were some positive attributes. I think that my topic connected with the audience well because it something everyone could relay to. Also, I will be more cautious in the future when editing my speech and make sure that I do not edit out important information I think that I overall had a good speech. Overall, my speech was not as fluent or organized as I prepared or expected it to be but I think that I had a vital learning
The objective of the film was to influence viewers to switch to a plant-based diet while avoiding animal consumption. Anderson and Kuhn utilize various visual techniques and rhetorical appeals to ethos and logos to support their argument that the causes of many diseases can be linked back to diet. While the film uses clear rhetorical techniques to present its argument, the overall argument is ineffective due to its broad claim and distorted presentation of positions. The first rhetorical strategy used by the film that will be analyzed is the appeal to pathos. An example of this would be the woman crying because she has to take medicine for the rest of her life.
However, he was not successful in delivering a very persuasive speech as his speech was disorganized and he expressed next to no emotion in his tone.
The rhetorical analysis that I am writing about is over the core reading “What’s Wrong with What We Eat”. This analysis is for my English 111 course. I will be writing to Professor Helfrich and my classmates. The medium that I am using is formal academic manuscript in APA format. The class was given a list of core readings to chose from and asked to write a rhetorical analysis over three main questions.
Presenting a speech, so it is effective, is not always an easy task. For instance, in Julius Caesar, Brutus and Antony speak to the crowd back-to-back from each other, yet one speech in particular makes an impact on the crowd. After both monologues are given, it is crystal clear who is the most favorable of the two in the Roman’s eyes. One, in particular, used spectacular tactics so the crowd would change their point of view on the situation.
With this rhetorical question, I immediately interacted with the audience. On the other hand within this question, I spoke carelessly and did not focus on pronouncing certain words correctly. For example, the word “to”, I spoke as “t-uh”. With my speech not being precise, it makes it more difficult for the audience to understand me. During my introduction, I managed to clearly describe the process of how to learn the four chords that are needed to play the songs that I listed
How Junk Food Can End Obesity uses repetition, contrast, anomalies, and literary devices in the article. In the article it talks about how junk food is unhealthy but more common and easier to get than wholesome food. It also talks about how it is cheaper but takes more time to make and then get the food or order. It does state that wholesome food can be unhealthier then junk food at times because the wholesome foods can have way more calories in the food than that of junk food which is why the article is titled How Junk Food Can End Obesity. How Junk Food Can End Obesity uses repetition by how it explains wholesome foods, junk foods, vegetables, fast food joints, and burgers.
Giving a speech whether being for the public or not, offers personal, professional, and public benefits for the individual. The individual might find it easier to obtain a profession, build better relationships amongst peers, or even propel social movements by carefully constructing and delivering a well thought out speech. A speech needs to be excellent in order to do such things; it needs to have a clear concise thesis, a preview statement, a great organizational pattern, supporting material, memory, delivery and good representation of oneself. Thus, during the process of constructing and delivering a speech, one must have those aspects. This will ensure the speaker will deliver a powerful and moving speech.
The question I am appreciating the most is Why does pricing become a problem when it comes to farming and our farmers. When analyzing who my audience is, I immediately think diversity. Although my class is a freshman English course, we all differ in age, gender, color, and interest. We are brought together due to our topic of class,which is food. But, when separate we have different takes on food.

Attention First and foremost, for deliver the speech speaker need to gain the attention of the audience since if we do not have their attention we can not persuade the audience ,speaker can grabs the audience’s attention and orients them to the issue use a humorous or dramatic story, a question, a quotation, a startling statement, etc. For example, in a speech designed to get the audience to concerning about the obesity from unhealthy food ,Jamie Oliver open the speech by using a dramatic opening “Sadly, in the next 18 minutes when I do our chat, four Americans that are alive will be dead from the food that they eat.” Jamie grabs the audience attention by questioning how in short time four people can die from the food they eat. 2.

Food, Inc., a documentary that demonstrates the current and growth method of food production since the 1950’s, is designed to inform Americans about a side of the food industry. Food Inc. also used persuasion to demonstrates some components of pathos, logos, and ethos while uncovering the mysterious side of the food industry in America. Robert Kenner, the director of Food, Inc., made this film for a purpose. Uncovering the hidden facts and secrets behind the food industry in America.
As I was talking however, I did not feel like I was telling them who I am, but the cold hard facts. I took another breath and turned my speech over and turned my attention to the crowd. Instead of telling them why I was the right person to represent their regional, I told them why I wanted to represent them. My voice caught in my throat as I told everyone who I really was, ignoring the voice in my head telling me to be someone I’m not. When I finished, I felt myself smile, knowing that I told everyone what they needed to know, the truth about who I am.
“They’re Grrrreat!” A claim that Kellogg’s one and only Tony the Tiger always makes in every Frosted Flakes commercial. But is this claim true? Is Frosted Flakes cereal really that great that Tony has to repeat it to the audience in every commercial. No one seems to care because if a talking tiger says its true then the audience must believe it too.
Dywane Wade This advertisements claim is that if someone drinks Gatorade, he or she will be as athletic as Dwayne Wade. The ad is persuasive because Dwayne Wade is one of the most athletic and skilled basketball players in the NBA, and he drinks Gatorade, so others feel that if they drink Gatorade that in return they will be just as athletic. Most people may not believe the ad to that extent, however they will at least realize the fact that if a professional athlete is using the product it must be a good decision. Gatorade made the advertisement effective because of its logical appeal, and since Dwayne Wade is a well known basketball player, and he drinks Gatorade other athletes may feel the need to as well. The color red is used a lot in this advertisement.
I did not use much transitions for my last speech. I have used more transitions in my informative presentation. For example, first, second, third, certainly, of course, finally, and so on. I will make sure that I do not use articulations while speaking. I will try to maintain eye contact with the audience, so it will help me to get audience attention.
