Overall this does not help our society at all, but really there is nothing we can do about it. There’s people in this world with no arms or legs but we deal with them. There’s also people that are sociopaths and phychotic and we just have to deal with it. The only time we can do something about it, is if they harm are doing something crazy like their usual ways. Aileen Wuornos wouldn’t have been executed if she didn’t kill 8 men, but she did, and she got caught. Grendels mother had killed so many people in the city hall, just like Aileen

The scene showed how not everyone can face the same bravery as Beowulf once did.

During this attack Grendel wanted to kill everyone and eat them that was what motivated him to fight, but Beowulf has a different plan he was able to defeat and kill Grendel. This upset Grendel’s mother so much like it would hurt any mother to know someone killed their son,she wanted to met this Beowulf that killed her son. She wanted to kill him, she eventually got to him. When she got to him it says “repair him with her clutching claws wildly tearing at him” “she drew a dagger, brown with dried blood and prepared to avenge her only son” in other words she was going to kill Beowulf for what he did to Grendel.

ver time, humans have always created stories and conjured up personifications of evil to explain the unknown - whether it was the myth of the vampire, spurred on by Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the receding of skin that causes a corpse’s nails to appear longer, or the myth of Wendigos, a create of evil in Native American culture. Many cultures and civilizations, new and old, have their fairytales and monsters in the dark, to explain the unknown. We see this in Beowulf, where Grendel is a representation of Satanic evil in the Bible due to the heavy influence of faith in Germanic warrior society, as opposed to monsters in modern society such as the zombie, which is a reflection of evolving political fears. In Beowulf, the first antagonist the reader
Her last hope was to get a stay of execution, which happened on September 30, 2002 by Governor Jeb Bush and he ordered a mental examination to determine whether Wuornos was competent to be executed. Beowulf: Good Vs. Evil The balance of good and evil in Beowulf by Seamus Heaney is apparent in the characters Grendel, Grendel’s mother, Beowulf and Wiglaf. Grendel is a slayer and kills the Danes in Heorot Hall. Grendel’s mother comes for revenge of her son and in the process kills Hrothgar’s friend and adviser, Aeschere.
When Grendel arrives, he slays many of Beowulf 's men. Beowulf strips nude to fight Grendel hand to hand. He bursts Grendel 's ear drums then severs his arm. As Grendel slinks into the night, Beowulf taunts him with boasts about his own strength and power. Grendel returns to the cavern where, with his dying breath, he tells his mother the name of the man who killed him.
More than a Monster In Beowulf, it showed us Grendel dying by Beowulf’s hand, when his mother finds out about his death she goes straight to Heoret to get revenge. She grabbed Aeschere, killed him, and this lead to Beowulf seeking her out to get rid of her as he did with Grendel. Beowulf was successful, after an underwater fight in her lake he took her down. Grendel’s mother is considered a monster by the pagans yet her motives, her human qualities, and her comparison to other characters prove that she is not as heartless or monstrous as she is perceived. A mother grieves when her children are harmed and Grendel’s mother is just that, a mother.
Beowulf’s exact words were ‘’Alone shall fight for me, struggle for the life against the monster’’ (Beers 173-174). For proof of his accomplishment Beowulf decided to take, snap, and brake Grendel 's arm apart even his shoulder was missing. Although Grendel escaped going back to the hole he crawled from death soon followed him.(Beers 370-375).Beowulf became famous and was given glory for saving King Hrothgar’s kingdom, but some still questioned despite the arm if Grendel had really been killed. Following after Grendel’s death ,his mother came to avenge her son’s death.
When he shows up, Beowulf and his men attack the monster before its arm is cut off and it eventually dies. Not long after Grendel is killed, his mother comes and continues what he started. Beowulf tells the king that he will find Grendel’s mother and kill her for him. He goes to Grendel’s mothers home and finds her there but not as he had expected. She is not like Grendel because she is manipulative and beautiful which ultimately makes Beowulf stunned.
