In the elments of fiction the element I need to read more about and undertand is the element of style. I also need help understanding tone andtheme. When writing I under use symbolism. I never really think aboit it when writing. I can maybe incoperate symblolism is telling my stories. Yes, when I read I do see archetypes. In Harry Potter there was the ritual of hat sorting. In Divergent there was the ritual cermony of what fraction you were choosing.The magic weapon in The Wizard of Oz was to use the red slippers and kick them three times because Dorothy could always go home. The first short stories was Walter's Scott's story " The Two Drovers" published in 1827. This was ahuge influence for writers like George Eliot, Thomas Hardy, and Fenimore Cooper. The modern short story got its real start in America with writers like Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Edgar Allan Poe. Its good to know these things bcause it part of american history. In this scene you can tell a lot about the characters with just what their lunches were. Clare with her sushi meal shows her qas upper class girl who is snobby. The jock has a tremendously large lunch. It ws funny how the others were looking at him. THen the emo girl is shown to be bazaar with her throwing her sandwich meat on the statue and her filing the bread with cereal and candy sugar, weird. Brian the geek has asn average lunch showing him as a normal kid from a normal fsmily. And lastly the rebel has no lunch showing his family doesnt even care aboy him. The movie portrays different stereotypes ranging from the most popular student to the student that is constantly in trouble and comes from a rough home life. The main characters are Claire, Bryan, Andrew, Allison, and Bender. Principle Vernon plays a key role in the development of the plot in The Breakfast Club. His character is used to represent other adults in the world at this time and their opinion on teenagers. During the movie, the five students are put in the library to think about their actions and the reasons why they are there; however, they end up bonding and getting to learn about one another.

The characters in the film were all very different and didn’t seem like they would get along very well. To start off, The first character is Claire. Claire is the type of person who is very rich, self centered, a prom queen, and a snob to everyone else who isn’t as accomplished and gifted as she is. She received a detention for skipping class to go shopping.
His parents physically and verbally abused him, an example of is the cigarette burn mark on Johns’ arm when Andrew doesn’t believe his reenactment of his parents. John hates his parents because the way that they treat him, which is typical of a teenager to hate their parents. John bender is a typical trouble maker, an example of this is when he unscrews this door forcing it shut and another example of this is when he brings everyone along to his locker to get his pot that they eventually smoke. In conclusion “The Breakfast Club” clearly identifies the different teenage stereotypes and the teenage stereotype as a whole.

For example, in the In the story "Harrison Bergeron", the author Kurt Vonnegut uses the characterization, and the conflict to communicate the message to the reader that Uniformity and strict laws lead to a loss of personal freedom and individuality. Then you have Andrew, he’s the athlete, of the school, and in the movie he is portrayed as the jock, dresses preppy, good looking, and popular. Then comes the brain, Brian he is the “geek” he follows the stereotype of the nerd, high waisted jeans just overall dorky image.
