The structural, organizational parts and the mode of delivery have been positively altered by technological advancements. The integration of technology has made a lot of improvements in the health care sector by making it easier for doctors to give services and the patients to access quality health care with less strain. The major areas that have benefited from technology in the health care sectors include cancer treatment and research.
Introduction
Technology is defined as a way of doing things. Modern technology has changed the way many things are done. One of the areas that have been impacted by technology is the medical field. Health care has come a long way especially if you compare the days before the advent of technology

The use revolutionary medical equipment in cancer treatment has made it possible for patients to enjoy a wide range of services that concerns the treatment. The use of nanotechnology enhanced medications has been a major step in the treatment of cancer across the globe (Janice 2009). One of the challenges which doctors have been facing when it comes to treating cancer is dealing with drugs resistance drugs. The use of technology has helped doctors to carry out research and come up with a product that would deal with the challenge. One of the tools that technology has produced and which is used to treat cancer is the feedback system control which is a drug that can help the doctor to analyze the physical trait of the cell that would create a mapping effects on the conditions of the drug in the body system of the patient.
Currently, the doctors have used technology to do genetic profiling of the patients. This enables the patient to receive a combination of therapies which makes it difficult to treat and prevent gene mutation in the cell. This new technology does not depend on the genetic information because once the profiling has been done, then it becomes easy for treatment to be carried out. The use of drug escalation has been used by doctors to monitor the treatment of cancer. Also, the current technology has made it easy for the management of cancer because machines

The use of health informatics will allow the medical researchers to determine the effectiveness of a particular treatment for a given population in the discovery of harmful effects of drugs. For a long time in the history of medicine, the concern and focus has always been on developing new drugs, and little attention was being given to other areas of improvement of the current medicine. The use of digital technology to profile the disease-causing organisms has made it easy for cross references to be carried out by other researchers; this has been instrumental in managing the research information on medicine and their
Lastly, vitamin D deficiency has been linked to the recurrence of breast cancer in other parts of a woman 's body. Advancements in prostate cancer include new research in gene changes that will help understand how the cancer develops. Some hereditary genes that have specific components of the DNA have been found to actually increase the risk of cancer in men. Many scientists have discovered that substances in some foods aid in lowering the risk of contracting the cancer. Lastly, a new treatment made is high intensity focused ultrasound or HIFU, which is used to kill cancer cells in early stages by using high focus ultrasonic
In the previous five decades, the movement of prescription has been fast and dynamic. Therapeutic examination has set down into investigation and discovering cures for some illnesses through surgical strategies, medications and antibodies thus over the long haul enhancing the wellbeing models and life range of people as a rule. This is in course to a customized prescription, "the fitting of medicinal treatment to the individual attributes of every patient. It doesn't truly mean the formation of medications or restorative gadgets that are interesting to a patient, but instead the capacity to order people into subpopulations that vary in their helplessness to a specific sickness or their reaction to a particular treatment". Because of variety in the human genome, medicinal treatment including medications and treatments may be for a particular gathering of individuals.
Jeffrey Kluger’s discusses in his article “Why Curing Cancer is Not a ‘Moonshot,’” his opinion on how, and why, the cure for cancer can not be compared to a moonshot. Many Presidents, including Barack Obama and Richard Nixon, have preached about the “war on cancer,”. Many have referred to curing cancer as a moonshot. According to Kluger, a moonshot is not nearly as difficult as curing cancer.
Without the knowledge and technology, we have today we would be oblivious to such disease. Most people would of never knew the problems they had if technology and science was not as strong as it is today. Due to the studies and the technology we have today this allows us to do a “deeper” study whereas back then they learned off of trial and
Scientific, and Medical advance have made it possible for more people to fight off diseases and bring back more of our troops from the war. Medical and scientific advance just keep getting more advance by the minute new discoveries are made, new vaccine are being developed to help save thousands of lives that could be under the risk of becoming infected, also new scientific transplants are being performed. Medical and scientific advances also help benefited the American economy during the postwar. A man that saved thousands of lives with his research and studies to develop a vaccine came about in the 1950’s.
The question being asked is, will diseases be treated by cells rather than pills in the future. Siddhartha Mukherjee has set out to inform other people on the future of how diseases will be cured. Our generation has been taught one method, get a disease, take medication, cure disease. In many illnesses, this method works. Mukherjee suggests that instead of working down and aiming to kill disease, that we work up.
Another life saving drug was Insulin “Insulin was used to help people with diabetes control their blood sugar which could be deadly if it wasn't under control” (“1920’s medicine”). Technology saved many lives and improved just as many without the technological advancements in the 20’s many people would have died, gotten sick and not had an as enjoyable life as they did because of
Rising Health care costs: how to control it In U.S., spending on health care has been growing at a faster pace than spending in rest of economy since 1960s. The government was spending 4.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) at that time, which grew to 16.2% in 2007, and is expected to rise to 20% of GDP by 2017(1). Without any drastic measures, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), these numbers will project to 25% of GDP in 2025, 30% by 2035, and 49% in 2082 (2). The major components of U.S. health care spending are hospitals (31%), physician and clinical services (21%), pharmaceuticals (10%), and other spending (25%) (3).
These advances helped kick start the profound medicine field that holds today in the world. While these were great advances,
The medical research in the 1800s were astonishing. Especially since nothing like that has ever been seen in that time. The medical reasearch led to an increas in the average life span of humans, and many more great discoveries. But technology today is even better than it was in the 1800s. The many medical researches from today are so much better, and can do so much for anything.
The Space Race and the development of the microprocessor and the internet are examples of how these advancements have changed the way we live our lives and how we interact with the world around us. The achievements made during this period continue to shape our present and will continue to shape our future. The advancements in space travel and information technology during the period of 1945-1989 have also had a significant impact on the field of medicine and healthcare. The development of satellites, remote sensing, and telemedicine have made it possible to provide healthcare services in remote and underserved areas.
The researchers also made the cells invisible to the rest of the cells in her body or else the other cells would attack the CAR T cells because they would be considered foreign to her body. Once the CAR T cells were in the patient’s body, the results showed that the treatment was successful (Saey). This shows that gene editing can help treat cancer, which would be a huge medical breakthrough. Also, gene editing can help treat serious eye conditions. Researchers can modify mutated genes that are causing the eye conditions.
Today, technology is the most relied on resource that people use. During the renaissance, medical technology was not very advanced, but advancements were still made. For example, the first “modern” physicians began to develop, studying physics and astronomy. The first disease to spread among thousands of people was syphilis.
The top two classifications of health care technology by industrial group are information technology and pharmaceuticals. Information technology can be different programs that health care companies use to keep documentation of medical information, run data reports, to communicating with a wide variety of people to name a few things. The biological and chemical pharmaceutical classification are products that have been designed or developed to assist the healthcare community with a variety of treatment options or medications that are regulated (Williams & Torrens, 2008). Medical devices and medical equipment are another two classifications of health care technology by industrial group. Medical devices are products that have been designed
Rapid and dramatic developments in medicine and technology have completely given us the power to save more lives than was ever possible in the past. Medicines have put at our disposal the means
