Technology is advancing year after year in society. It benefits our community in daily life. Mainly, science fiction novels are a reflection of the useful technology that we use each day. This is the case in The Giver, by Louis Lowry. In this science fiction novel, technology is used each second of every day to help protect the community. The community of The Giver takes place in the future, and consists of a very boring life, living the same life each day. The people of the community do not realize how bland their life's are as they are told what to do each day. All around the world, humans are using technology in every minute of every day. People may not even realize how often technology is used, perhaps this is because it is used every day around us for work, safety, entertainment and even food. Technology is one that we all take for granted, when we should realize how beneficial technology is in the world, how it helps everyone each day.
