It is about the way that the company assesses its actions and takes responsibility for this. (Investopedia, n.d.) CSR is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental issues in their business operations and interactions with stakeholders . The company aims to achieve a balance of economic, environmental and social objectives, while also listening to the needs of stakeholders. (UNIDO, n.d.) It will help the company to achieve both its financial and social objectives. The strategy has to match internal competencies with external opportunities in such a way that Tesla achieves its mission while striving towards its vision. (Chandler, 2013) The vision of a company explains where they are headed and what values are important. It relates to the purpose of the company and what they want to achieve in the future. The mission goes beyond the vision as it explains the company’s goals and objectives more clearly. It also mentions how this will be accomplished. The last step is to create a strategy based on the defined vision and mission. (Miller, 2014) Tesla’s mission is ‘to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport by bringing compelling mass market electric cars to market as soon as possible’. The vision of Tesla is ‘to create the most compelling car company of the 21st century by driving the world’s transition to electric vehicles’. Based on the mission and vision, the company’s strategy was determined. Tesla’s strategy is to enter at the high end of the market, where customers are prepared to pay a premium, and then drive down market as fast as possible to higher unit volume and lower prices with each successive model. (Chandler, 2013) Customers have greater access to products so they can choose between, for example, a cheap more polluting car and a more expensive non-polluting car. Also, there is more competition so Tesla needs to distinguish itself from other companies by focusing on CSR. An emerging force that may reshape CSR in the future might be climate change. The warming of the earth causes many destructive processes to take place such as the melting of the polar icecaps. The mission simply describes why the institution offers certain degree programs over others, why they only accept a select number of students, or why they have the requirement that they do, Calder(2011). According to Education Reform(2014), the mission is described as a statement that provides the institutions purpose and commitments to the students, stakeholders, and the community. Some people tend to use the terms mission and vision interchangeably, however the two have their own distinct meaning for the institution, Education Reform(2014). According to Calder(2014), the mission statement assists the institution in learning what things are good so they can proceed and build on those things and on the other hand to discover what things are bad so they can rid themselves of the negative things.
What does the future look like when it comes to the innovation of sustainable power? One company seems to have the answer to that question with their lineup of electric cars, solar panels, and battery packs for homes. Since 2008 Tesla has made a huge impact on the way current generations are dealing with sustainable energy and how we could incorporate it into everyday products. Tesla uses all three rhetorical appeals by incorporating ethos, logos, and pathos throughout their website to make their argument of them having the worlds "best" and "safest" products. Using these rhetorical strategies, they appeal to many "future forward" thinking families who are interested in having the latest in technology with compelling products.
Abstract The strategic change cycle is one of the processes within strategic planning. This cycle is a ten-step process created to assist organizations in meeting their mandates, satisfying their missions, and constructing public value. “Strategic planning is intended to enhance an organization’s ability to think, act, and learn strategically” (Bryson & Alston, 2011). Introduction Strategic planning is “a deliberate, disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization (or other Entity) is, what it does, and why it does it” (Bryson & Alston, 2011).

It means that social responsibility begins where the law ends. A firm is not being socially responsible if it merely complies with the minimum requirements of the law, because this is what any good citizen would do.” A firm will not survive without the support of both the stakeholders and shareholders, thus the CSR proposes the indication which states that a firm can never exist In a vacuum (Khalidah et. al.).

Analysis: Tesla has proven to make an extensive impact in the market. Keeping the company’s position in the high-end industry, Tesla is able to represent just like companies like Apple a high-end product that appeals only to a certain customer base. Tesla is constantly innovating their product in a way that the newest technologies will be incorporated in the production process of the car and the products the companies develop itself too. Tesla is the first major company to have inherited an electric car only automobile production company, which is nearly impossible considering the weak demand for electric cars today. Most car manufacturers today only devote a small part of their product line to electric cars, meaning that they do not want to take the risks of completely changing to electric only cars as fears of reducing the demand for their products is real and because there is still more demand for conventional petrol driven cars.
