Animal farm
Animal farm is an allegorical novel written by George Orwell, and it was published in England 17 August 1945. Known by his pen name George Orwell, Eric Arthur Blair was an English novelist, essayist, journalist and critic. He was born on 25 June 1903 and died on 21 January 1950 (age of 46). George Orwell is ranked one of the top 20 most influential writers of the 20th century. Animal Farm supposedly reflects on the events that led to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and Stalin’s era, and in this essay will explain to you how.
We will start by analyzing different characters in the book and see how could they resemble different parts and people who were part of events that led to Stalin's era. We will start with Napoleon, because he

Animal farm began with Mr. Jones (Nicholas II) who owned the farm, he was once a capable farmer(Alexander II of Russia he was the most successful Russian reformer since Peter the Great) until he lost the lawsuit and became an alcoholic. Old Major (Karl Marx) Told his dream (Communist Manifesto) to the other animals before his death. The animals revolt (Russian revolution 1917). Snowball and Napoleon start having power struggle between each other(Stalin vs. Trotsky power struggle). Battle of Cowshed, animals are led by Snowball. The animals win the battle (Russian civil war, The red Army was led by Trotsky. The Red Army wins the war). Snowball starts building the windmill (Trotsky comes up with idea of the five-year plan) Napoleon uses his dogs to exile Snowball (Trotsky is exiled by order from Stalin). Napoleon continues building the windmill (Stalin starts the first five-year plan). The windmill was destroyed by a storm (the first five-year plan fails). The hens refuse to give their eggs to Napoleon, so Napoleon starves them until some of them died and some gave up. (Stalin’s Great Purge). The Battle of the Windmill (World War II). The Pigs start walking on two legs and start wearing clothes, they try to be like the humans. (Stalin’s government becomes the same government the revolution wanted to remove.)
Conclusion
Orwell shows us the story of the Russian revolution, how it started out as the working class who has been exploited by a monarch, thinking that when that after the would live better, only to fall into the hands of totalitarian who make them suffer twice as much. Orwell tells us the truth and facts that might have been hidden from public at the time Animal farm published. After eventually overruling the Czar three men named Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, and Vyacheslav Molotov. Who tried to attempt at making the country a better place, but had failed once again. Since this was such a big outcome in history there was a book made to resemble the revolution. It was called Animal Farm. Animal Farm consisted of characters such as Napoleon, Squealer, and Snowball.

Mr. Jones is modeled on Tsar Nicholas II (1868-1918), the last Russian emperor. His rule (1894-1917) was marked by his insistence that he was the uncontestable ruler of the nation. During his reign, the Russian people experienced terrible poverty and upheaval, marked by the Bloody Sunday massacre in 1905 when unarmed protesters demanding social reforms were shot down by the army near Nicholas ' palace.

Joseph Stalin is represented by Napoleon and the story follows the events that lead up to Napoleon’s rule over Animal Farm. During the novel, Napoleon uses both psychological and physical fear to control the animals. This is proved by Napoleon using Jones and Snowball as a Physiological fear, to prevent rebellion.
During the Russian Revolution, Vladimir Lenin was obligated for changing Russia into the Soviet Union just as old Major tried to change Manor Farm into Animal Farm. Events and animals in the book are parallel to the events and people in the Russian Revolution. Animal Farm, which was originally named Manor Farm, is ran by Mr. Jones until the animals take charge. Mr. Jones takes poor care of the animals such as refusing to feed them. The animals decide to rebel against him and take charge of the farm.

The animals are tired of Mr. Jones and how he treats them so they overrule him. Napoleon abuses the animals trust and uses his power for evil. Napoleon ends up changing everything in the farm. Many years pass and Mr. Jones also passes away. Boxer and Snowball become forgotten.
