There have been many myths that people have handed down over the course of human history. One such myth is the Greek myth of Hades specifically, of that of Cerberus the guard dog of Hades. Cerberus was the offspring of Echidna and Typhon and was often described as having three heads, a serpent for a tail, and snakes protruding from parts of his body. Though this was not always the case, in the earliest description in Hesiod's theogony from 8th - 7th century B.C., he was described having fifty heads, while later when described by Pindar in 522- 433 B.C. he had one hundred heads. When referring to the heads specifically when described by Apollodorus, a Greek scholar, he had three dog heads and the heads of snakes on his back. When described …show more content…
These usually get referred to as urban myths, one such case is the chupacabra. The Chupacabra's name when translated from Spanish is “goat- sucker” and is often described as a dog like creature or an alien creature. .Appearances first started springing up in Puerto Rico in the 1990s. During this time sheep were found dead with puncture wounds to the chest and they were also drained of blood. News of it spread and sightings started to happen in other locations like Latin America and the southern united states. Most of these sightings are thought to really be coyotes or stray canines with bad mange, and some of the bodies they have found that were shot by ranchers support this conclusion. Also in the book tracking the Chupacabra by Benjamin Radford he tracked down the original eye witness and found that her description matched to a horror movie species and specifically the creature in the film called a sil. Said eye witness watched the movie earlier. Surprisingly the Chupacabra is quite popular in pop culture with it appearing in things such as anime and cartoons to movies to video games with the most interesting appearance being in a fantastic four comic where the team goes to Puerto Rico to deal with the
At first, he thought it was an extremely large dog, but he was mistaken. The creature also walked on its hind legs, and had rows of razor sharp teeth with an extremely long tongue with a needle at the end of it. If I was getting chased by this beast then I would be scared for my life. I would not know how to defend myself either, since the beast is 15 feet tall and is pure muscle. You have no chance to defend yourself if you’re by yourself.
Why do so many people not believe in sensational subjects such as bigfoot? Because such a huge animal like that would surely at least leave some evidence behind, and then there's the fact that there can't just be one bigfoot or mythical creature everyone claims to see. There would theoretically have to be more than one. Although we all might like to believe in the possibility of such creatures, why would you actively believe that there are mythical beings out there without proof? Although there are some people that are quite naive and will easily believe such things without any proof whatsoever.
In Percy Jackson, it is described as a three-headed dog. They also mention that it is twice the size of a wooly mammoth and you could walk right under him, he was a purebred rottweiler, and he was mostly invisible (to the living). In greek mythology, the Cerberus let the dead get in and made sure nothing got out. In the book, this took place as well. The Cerberus was guarding the gate to the underworld.
I was always scared to search up and see if she exists or not. In “To cry or not to cry: La Llorona,” Bescobar states “There aren't hard copy documentations proving that this legend, truly exist but there are several stories that have been passed down by people who have crossed paths with La Llorona.”. This quote means that there is no type of evidence that la Llorona actually exists. There are only stories of people whom they say they have seen or heard la Llorona at night. But no evidence whatsoever if she is real or fake.

(a)In the Navajo origin legend there are many key ideas, but the main point was the wind would give life to man and woman, and (b) as long as the wind blew they would live. In this document, “the Pima lived in the Arizona desert along the Gila and Salt Rivers, a remote location that helped them resist European influence” (Myth, 2). In the book Boar Out There Cynthia Rylant, there is a girl named Jenny and there is a boar into the woods, she thinks it's a myth so she goes in the woods and finds out if it's truly is a myth. My lesson in the book is face your fears, don’t be scared. My first reason is Jenny goes to the fence and peaks over and whispers “Boar out there?”,she is a little scared but she was fine after.
Bigfoot Video Games Bigfoot is an Ape like creature claimed to be found in North America, yet it’s mythical since there are no scientific evidences of existence of the Bigfoot in reality. Among several video gaming myths, like Polybius, lavender takedown Syndrome of Pokémon, Phantom Epona of the Legend of Zelda –Bigfoot has been in the games as well, being a myth for the player especially children that keeps them involved and keeps their curiosity alive to figure out what creature did they see and they keep on playing. Like snowflakes, no two creation myths are identical, “The Story of the Creation”, which highlights on the creation of the Akimel O’odham, more commonly known as the Pima, and Megan Wren’s “Mayan Creation Myth” are no exception; however, there are many similarities. The “Mayan Creation Myth” and “The Story of Creation” both follow the basic path that most creation myths do starting with the emptiness in the beginning, a void to be filled by a God-like figure, who would soon create vegetation, animals, and humans who he would then destroy and start anew. With every creation myth, there is a void, or an emptiness before a greater power takes it into his hands to change that, and this is true for both the Mayan, and the Pima creation myth.
After doing research about the Greek monster, Chimera, I learned that this monster was in the form of a body and head of a lion, tail of a snake, and a fire breathing goat head, coming out of the creatures back. The Chimera is recognized as a female who is one of a kind. She usually appears before disasters as an omen, or warning. However, Chimera death occurred when the Greek Hero, Bellerophon and his Pegasus killed Chimera with a bow and arrow from the sky. In which his mom, Echidna and his dad, Typhon was devastated.

M’lady: Eh! We’re hot on the trail of the Chupacabra! Dude: Ay!
Whether it be Hel’s and Hades’ similar terrible upcoming, strange pattern of abducting, or their usage of servants and fellow canines, it is clear that these cultures and gods, although far apart, weren’t all that different. Their difference in dealing with the dead and variability with the features of their homeland also solidifies that these societies and gods were in their ways, unique to each other. By using these detailed comparisons you have opened up the door into a whole new world of
The beast was a cyclops picking up houses (Does The Underworld have houses for the dead? Oh well, It's in the myth.” and eating dead people so they will forever live in the beast's stomach. Hades was not gonna have that. (Warning: This part of the myth is gonna get REALLY BUSy.
