The Gruesome Shooting It was chilly in the room as Janice threw over her blankets and slid on her fluffy slippers. It was 6:00 in the morning when she sat on her bed, staring across the room at her closet figuring out what she wanted to wear; jeans and a cardigan, or sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Sweatpants and a sweatshirt it was, if it was going to be a non-exciting, boring Monday, at least she would be comfortable. The door in front of her bed was cracked which was probably the reason the heat didn't get in. When she swung her door open, it collided with her chair. All girls have that one chair in their room where all the useless things of the previous day get tossed to, including Janice's back pack. Next to that door was her dresser. …show more content…

She didn't have many friends, but she had a good amount, enough for her to be happy with. When she walked in the room, she noticed her classmate's faces were filled with sadness because Thanksgiving break was over. Ms. Hudson didn't look sad though, in fact, she was very cheerful, which then made the students feel more welcome. When class began, she was very thrilled to be teaching the lessons. It was the best part of Janice's day except for the part where she actually had to learn and take notes. Midway through, Ms. Hudson stopped the class and excitedly pronounced, "I have something to announce... I'm engaged!". Bunches of little whispers and congratulations exploded into the rooms and the dull, boring day turned into a cheery, joyful day. Up until the phone rang. Ring ring... ring ring. Ms. Hudson hurried to the phone and when she answered, her face was full of horror and her mouth agape. "Everyone hurry into the corner now! There's someone in the building, do not be alarmed, the principal is dealing with it, but the office just called to give a precaution." Ms. Hudson said to the …show more content…

Where is the police? She thought. What happened to the principal taking care of it? Obviously no one was coming because a half- hour or so had passed since the phone call and she knew what she had to do. She knew that if she wanted to make it out of the school she would need to escape. She could go out the window, but the loud click it makes when it pops into position could give herself away. There was no way of leaving without drawing attention to herself so she had a brilliant thought of drawing attention to herself anyways. What could draw attention more than a loud, ear piercing, annoying fire alarm. The fire alarm! There was one outside the classroom too, just right across the hall! It was a plan, she somehow had to pull the fire alarm and run as fast as should could out of the door. The fire alarm will also notify the police and firefighters, and could save a lot of students and
