Many immigrants come into America every day, looking for a better life for themselves and their families. However, americans are afraid of letting those immigrants in. These americans think that the immigrants will take jobs and food from the needy people that are already here. Because of this, Americans want to keep all of the immigrants out of the United States. Once in a blue moon, there is a diamond in the rough that will change america forever. If these people weren’t allowed entry into the country, we would not be where we are today. We would have gotten electricity later, we would not have been able to achieve our goal to reach the moon as soon, and we would have been without the excitement of the horror film. Immigrants have positively …show more content…
For example, he invented many things that are crucial to today’s world, propelling us into the never seen before future. He invented the alternating current, or AC, generator, that today is powering every home across America. He is the person invented the speedometer, allowing us to track our speeds on the road. One of his most famous inventions was the Tesla Coil which regulated the electric current in people’s houses. He also help the military, inventing a boat piloted by remote control. He also had received credit for the radio, and the fluorescent light bulb. In one of his biggest accomplishments, his AC dynamos, or machines, are powering the Northeast United States (Lake). Nikola Tesla pioneered us into the future, his inventions affecting the world then and …show more content…
He changed the way people viewed the world. He created the Theory of General Relativity which stated that space and time are relative. This means that how much time passed depends on location and speed. Before this, people relied on Sir Isaac Newton’s view of the world. This theory also stated that pure energy equals mass times the speed of light squared or E=mc². This statement gave the conclusion that energy can be produced from matter. If humans could use this formula to create pure energy from a penny, it would be able to power New York City for two months. He also is responsible for the science behind the atomic bomb (Schwartz). Albert Einstein gave us a larger view of the world around us, so we can go where nobody has gone
Nikola Tesla and his accomplishments he achieved are so historically significant that his name left a mark on history and people acknowledge his work today. Which is shown in the following source (Hall, Nikola Tesla Figure From Progressive Era Research Paper Essay "Tesla: A scientific saint, wizard or carnival sideman?," 1986, p. 120) “Whether Tesla is the patron saint of modern electricity or some carnival sideman in the history of science is an issue that prompts a good deal of heated disagreement even now, 130 years after his birth. In Yugoslavia he is a national hero. To boosters in the International Tesla Society he is the unacknowledged inspiration for everything from radio to robots to radar” as it is shown nikola NIKOLA TESLA PROGRESSIVE ERA RESEARCH PAPER ESSAY 5 tesla revolutionized the science of electricity which is shown through his accomplishments.
It demonstrated the principles of the rotating magnetic field. He made a metal egg spin by using electricity. Tesla is mainly known for his modified version of the light bulb. Everyone was amazed by his invention, but every time he turned it on, it would make noises. The worst part about all the inventions was how loud they were.
He exposed what was unknown to the world. In 1753 he is awarded the Copley Medel equivalent to what is now a Nobel prize for science becoming the most famous American in the world. But that was only the
He made a number of inventions such as bifocals, furnace, lining rod, and the glass harmonica. He was probably most for his lightning experiments which caused him to further understand electricity and lightning. He was also most known for his quotes and being an amazing writer. Some
Benjamin Franklin Through his efforts to influence and inspire the world, Benjamin Franklin led America to reach new heights that would eventually make it the strongest nation known to man. As one of the most involved men in the United States during his time, he managed to transform America and change it into the country its citizens love today. There are many ways that Franklin provoked the lives of the American people during his life. Even after his death, the whole nation carried on its motivation that was sparked by Benjamin Franklin.
One year after opening, it was deemed the largest testing laboratory in the world. Thomas Edison was a creative inventor that pushed the science world forward 100 years by inventing the lightbulb, quadruplex transmitter, telegraph, helping with the making of the telephone and much more. Plus he had a major positive impact on his decade by serving in the civil war, saving lives and creating jobs. He also had a major impact on the world by allowing safe lasting light with the light bulb, easy communication with the telegraph, and electrical distribution.
He wrote books on Physics, and created the word electricity to describe his investigations based Gilbert 's work. While being one of the many men who help to create electricity as we know it, Benjamin Franklin did not discover
“If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write things worth reading or do things worth writing. ”- Benjamin Franklin. Without Benjamin Franklin’s advanced thinking life wouldn 't be as easy as it is today. A great portion of inventions would not exist without him, such as, the Lightning Rod, Bifocals, and different types of stoves.
Newton deserves lots of credit for his vast contributions to the modern world. Sir Isaac Newton was a great scientist and mathematician, starting in his young school years and throughout his adult life. Through his teaching career he accomplished so much changing the world day after day, invention after invention. Everything he did and accomplished shall have him be remembered as a great scientist and mathematician who advanced our world.
After that, many scientists were inspired by his work and made experiments of their own. That is how we have electricity is known to the world now. Franklin was the only person to sign 3 documents that improved the United States: Declaration on peace, Peace Treaty with Britain and the constitution. Also Franklin published “Poor Richard’s Almanack,” from 1733 to 1758. The Almanack became know for it’s funny sayings, some sayings are still used today.
Throughout history, many people have had a significant impact on the world. Some of these people impacted the world negatively, while others focused on leaving a positive imprint on society. Nikola Tesla left an irrefutable signature on the world by inventing or working with the X-ray, radio communication, artificial lightning, the Tesla coil, and the polyphase alternating current motor. As undervalued as Tesla was, without him, life today wouldn’t be as simple. As a child, he believed he could do great things.
Thomas Edison is an American inventor and businessman, who has been described as “America’s greatest inventor.” His tireless work efforts and dedication to science not only helped him to create inventions that have advanced technology , but also become an inspirational figure for Americans. His improvements and inventions on objects that were already invented helped the lives of over millions of Americans. He helped to build America’s economy during some of its more vulnerable years as a new nation. Thomas Edison’s inventions have helped to advance our society though his dedications and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and chemical sciences.
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.
After becoming famous for several brilliant advances in physics, including Brownian motion, the photoelectric effect, and the special and general theories of relativity, Albert Einstein spent the last thirty years of his life on a useless search for a way to combine gravity and electromagnetism into a single theory. Einstein was motivated by a need to unify the forces of nature. He felt that all of nature must be described by a single theory. But he never gave up on his quest for a unified theory. Even while lying on his deathbed, he continued his work.
He invented a more efficient energy system, a way to intercept radio signals around the world, remote control technology, neon lighting, radar, robotics, x-rays, and he even laid the groundwork for
