It is a musical romantic film that tells a story about an English poet/writer names Christian, who was portrayed by Scottish actor, Ewan McGregor, who fell in love with a beautiful courtesan, and the star of the Moulin Rouge, Satine, who was played by Academy Award best actress, Nicole Kidman. It was set in 1900, where Christian writes the story of how he and Satine fell in love in and overcome obstacles in the Moulin Rouge. Their short love story was definitely moving that made everyone who watched it fell in love, but unlike any other love story that has a happy ending, this film has a hint of reality into it. But of course, its songs and dance routines are what made it unique. Moulin Rouge, is one of the greatest musical films of all time, and it was proven when it was nominated for not just one but eight Oscars. However, it only managed to snag two awards: Best Art Direction and Best Costume
