Lizzie Borden lost her mother after birth, father remarried when reached the age of three, and one older sister of eleven years apart. Growing up, Lizzie Borden lived quite a respectable lifestyle, aside from a few misdemeanors. At thirty-two, the police suspected her of involvement in the murder of her father, Andrew Borden, and stepmother, Abby Durfee Grady Borden. With all the evidence pointing towards Lizzie, many cannot help questioning what her motive could possibly have been for this God loving individual to commit this unforgivable crime. Some historians say Lizzie Borden was sexually abused behind closed doors.
Fred Hampton was a former NAACP organizer and the chairman of the Illinois Black Panther Party. Fred Hampton was murdered due to the FBI program COINTELPRO, which targeted social and political threat organizations. Due to his impressions left on African Americans as an effective leader, the FBI wanted to eliminate Fred Hampton. One of Hampton’s accomplishments was emphasizing that racial and ethnic conflict between street gangs would be more effective if they collaborated against police brutality. In the documentary, “Eyes on the Prize: A Nation of Laws” shows that Fred Hampton is significant for how he instilled the sense of pride, dignity and self-determination in African Americans.

It took the police several months to find out who was responsible for the murders.
The Manson family legacy continues to live on to this day. Both in true crime discourse as well as modern pop culture representations — Charles Manson has spawned countless documentaries, biographies, movies, and tv show cameos. Similarly, when Manson was on trial in 1969, he inspired a huge amount of audience/fan interaction. Women would send him letters, wanting to be part of his family even as he prepared for a life in prison.
It was December 25, 1996, that evening; the Ramsey’s were at a friend’s house, having their annual Christmas party. Late that night, when it was time to leave the party, patsy and john Ramsey’s daughter Jonbenet was sound to sleep on the way back home. When they went to put her to bed, little did they know that it would be the last time they see their daughter alive. Although JonBenet Ramsey’s killer may still be out there, her mother Patsy is most likely the suspect of the crime.
Although Charles Manson never actually committed any murders, this infamous cult leader was convicted of first degree murder for directing the murders committed by his followers known as the “Manson Family”. He was sentenced to death but since California invalidated death sentences that were handed down before 1972; this was commuted to a life sentence. Manson has spent a lot of his time while incarcerated creating art. If you were not aware that some the pictures had been created by him you would probably not find them disturbing but knowing the background of the artist does lend a certain macabre tone. Most are simplistic pieces created with pencil, crayons and water colors and depict shapes (such as stars and circles), masks, devils and
