Throughout history, the responsibilities of men have changed. Agriculture, for the most part, is and has been a male dominated profession. However, advances in technology have completely changed many of the tasks and responsibilities farming. The 1930’s was a difficult time for all people in the, but it was a devastating time for farmers. Dropping farm prices and the need to purchase new expensive machinery encouraged many farmers of the 1930’s to borrow money. Therefore, when the stock market crashed in 1929 many farmers who had borrowed money were broke. The remaining farmers had trying times ahead of them.
