Chinggis Khan was the founder of the Mongol empire, and his success in building his empire happened from the successful military campaigns in China, central Asia, and Persia. The story, “The Secret of the Mongols”, can be summarized as the “capture and execution of Jamuqa, the Khan’s blood brother” (companion pg 209). Jamuqa was stated in the book as one of Chinggis’s greatest rival. The story started out as Chinggis has just defeated the Naiman army, and Jamugha was with them. He was able to escape into the woods with five of his men/follower. One day, after killing a mountain sheep, Jamugha’s five men had captured and tied him up, and they brought him to Chinggis Khan. Jamugha felt betrayed by his men, and wanted to pass a word along to Chinggis. Jamugha said that because his men betrayed him, it was considered “slaves and servants have conspired against their lord” (companion pg 210). After hearing his, Chinggis made a decree that men who lay their hands on their lord should be punished, because how could anyone trust men like this. So, Chiggins brought the five men who betrayed Jamugha and …show more content…
Just like the confucian theory about doing good will bring you good; respect and forgiveness plays a role because to have good things happen upon you, you have to do good. For example like respecting one another to gain that respect back and learning to forgive to have others forgive you for your wrong doings too. Also, in a lot of earlier civilizations and still among some today, there are still kings that rule a group of people, and loyalty to a king still exist. Today, these values still holds true and exist among our civilization. We are still loyal to our President, even though we don’t agree with some of his decision. We still respect one another and practice the act of
Genghis Khan ambles through the streets of peaceful Karakorum, greeting all his steadfast warriors. Among the Mongols are thousands of Chinese, Russians, Polish, Hungarians, and many more flooding the streets. Ordinarily, all of these people are going somewhere: to the glorious temples, the bustling markets, or to the distinguished Genghis Khan walking through his empire. The Mongol Empire, built with Genghis 's own blood, sweat, and unyielding perseverance, was what he dreamed the world could be, what he believed it would be. Genghis Khan led the Mongols not just to victory but assisted in the development of our world today.
The Mongols period (1206-1368) was a horrific time but also somewhat peaceful. The Mongols invaded the largest land empire in “human history”. The Empire fell most times after two hundred after being built. The Mongols changed history greatly. They had many positive and negative on the empire.
In the period 1200 to 1400 Eurasia was the home to the Mongols. During this time the Mongols conquered and ruled many parts of Eurasia. Mongols were pastoralists who lived on the Asian steppes. They lived in mobile tents called yurts and depended on their horses for everything from food to clothing. They were experts at horseback riding, as it was taught from a young age.
The Mongols who are they and were they barbaric? The mongols was a small clan until they came to one leadership whom being named genghis Khan. He who lead the mongols to a world of conquering and success. The mongols were barbaric empire. They way they kept soldiers fighting is cruel, they way they killed people from other empires is not necessary, and the way they got married depending on the situation is unfair.
The True Legacy of The Mongols In history, a frequent topic of debate is the legacy that the Mongol Empire left behind. It can easily be argued that they were nothing but murderous barbarians, a monotonous war machine. This is proven by the fact that they used biological warfare at the Siege of Caffa in 1346. The Mongols catapulted disease ridden corpses into the city of Caffa to spread the Black Plague into the city.(Wheelis)
The rise of the Aztec Empire (1150-1521) and Mongol Empire (1206-1368) affected their surrounding regions significantly. Through the invasions by these Empires, the areas they inhabited were conquered and reestablished as their own. The Aztecs and Mongols were similar in many ways including their mutual desire to gain power and land. Although these empires resemble each other in the way they acquired land, they vary in terms of their religion and reasons for engineering advances. Both empires established advances in engineering but, because of their environments, these advances were created differently to benefit themselves.
The Mongols were a clan of people who showed their barbarism through inflicting ruthless fear tactics, killing hundred thousands of people, and living by a set of uncivilized rules and barbarous body of laws. Mongols had countless ways of forcing fear not only on their enemies but among their own people as well. The Mongols number one method in ensuring that their people will stay in line is by threatening death upon them. If a few, in battle, flee from the enemy the entire group gets killed, unless they return back and in this case only the ones who originally fled are killed. If one or two from a group goes bravely towards the enemy, and others don’t follow, they are killed.
The Iliad by Homer The Iliad was a really good representation of the chaotic war-torn times of the area surrounding the Mediterranean Sea; this includes the countries Rome and Greece. It was a time where nations were trying to expand their power and influence and warriors were claiming their spoils of war. I mean the beginning of book I of The Iliad, Achilles and Agamemnon are arguing over the rewards and the spoils of war. Agamemnon didn’t want to give up his prize girl Chryses in order to please the God Apollo and stop the plague and the rain of arrow falling from Olympus.
Genghis Khan is guilty due to his ruthless attitudes toward societies, his repulsive methods of murder, and the state in which they left conquered cities. He left traces of destruction wherever he went and was detrimental to the success of states during that time. First, Khan destroyed many innocent civilizations in order to expand his empire. If there was a society in the way of the Mongol Empire, then it did not stand a chance against them.
Mongol armies tore through most of the ancient world throughout the 13th century. Pillaging and plundering every nation in their path, the Mongols left an impressive wake of destruction and death. The Mongols shook the world with the impact of their conquests, but not of their influence was negative. Overall the Mongols brought much needed change in politics and commerce to both China and the Middle East.
Verdict of the Trial of Genghis Khan. After the trial had taken place, I decided that Genghis Khan and the Mongols were uncivilized. During the time of the trial I learned much more of the brutality that had taken place during his reign. The barbaric attitudes and actions of himself and his followers is what led to him being found guilty of being uncivilized.
During the thirteenth century much of the known world was conquered by people from a small tribe in Central Asia. These people became known as the mongols. They operated on the backs of horses and even used siege weapons. Some of the people that came across the MOngols called the barbarians. These were people that were savage and evil.
The Mongols were easily one of the most dangerous and powerful empires in the 13th and 14th century. The Mongols were known for conquering most of the eastern empires of that time. Some may argue that the Mongols spread their culture and blended it with cultures across the eastern empires. The mongols did not desire to blend their culture and ideals with other empires but desired power and wealth and only what would benefit their own empire. The Mongols would take citizens from empires they conquered and recruit them into their army, make them slaves or require the citizens to pay tribute.
The Mongols Intro The Mongols have made a negative impact to all of us in one way or another. Some ways worse than others. Some of the things Genghis Khan has done may be cruel and wrong, but was what he had to do to be a great leader. The Mongolians ruled from 1260 to 1368 C.E, they were located in Mongolia, in the Northern China area.
The Mongols, a native asian tribe, eight hundred years ago conquered much of the known world. Said tribe originated from the grasslands of central asia and went on to become one of the most successful and most conversed about castes in history. The story of the mongols, however, is one that is quite difficult to tell. The Mongols were an illiterate clan, making it close to impossible to receive a message in full context, much like the telephone game nowadays were a message is spread through many individuals until reaching the final destination. For hundreds of years the Mongols have been a center of debate for many history related discussions, though the common conclusion is yes, the mongols were a barbaric tribe, that’s not really the case, and it’s backed by facts.
