When you think of president Theodore Roosevelt some things that usually come to mind are; big stick ideology, and that he was a dedicated conservationist. I chose Theodore Roosevelt not only because his desire to strengthen Americas economic system, but he also believed in political justice and a fair society for the people.
Theodore Roosevelt sought to prosecute business monopolies, and by using the Sherman Antitrust Act, he did just that. The Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 was the first Federal Act that outlawed prohibit trust. A trust is when stockholders from several different companies transfer their shares into a single set of depositories. This allowed for the stockholders to receive a specific share of the earnings from the managed companies.

Theodore Roosevelt first used the act to declare the Devil’s Tower a National Monument on September 24, 1906. He later used it for the first step in protecting the Grand Canyon National Monument. “President Theodore Roosevelt was one of the park system’s greatest patrons. He was a young Republican who took unexpectedly took office after the assassination of President William McKinley. Unfortunately he was only allowed to send over money, supplies, and ships as the law prohibited him from sending soldiers. Since Roosevelt was exceedingly, exceptionally, and extraordinarily loyal and honorable man who never swayed on what he thought was right he did everything he could to aid his friends in England. In regard to expanding, The United States, bought Alaska from russia for 7.2 million dollars. And sugar farmers in Hawaii, overthrew the queen, and annexed to the United States. With the philippines, there were 3 main ways to do diplomacy. 3 different presidents each had their own way of dealing with the issues.
