Classroom Observation: Dominic was observed during the morning in his third grade class. At the start of the observation, a selected group of students, including Dominic, were instructed to sit on a rug for an activity. Dominic sat on the rug for a couple of seconds before he got up and went to his desk to look for an item. Dominic could not find the item at his desk, so he headed to a shelf and grabbed a paper. He then headed back to the rug and took a seat. During the activity, Dominic appeared to listen to the teaching assistant as she reviewed letter sounds. Furthermore, Dominic had his fingers in his mouth, biting his nails during the activity. After the activity, Dominic headed back to his desk as instructed by the teaching assistant. The class was instructed to start a “spelling sort” activity. During the activity, he cut out and glued printed words from a worksheet onto his notebook. Occasionally, Dominic talked with a peer seated next to him. Once Dominic finished the activity, he placed his notebook into his desk. He briefly looked around the room before his general education teacher, Mrs. Hippchen, asked “OK Dominic, what do we do now?” He then pulled out a book from his desk and began reading. The class then transitioned to a math lesson. Worksheets were handed to the class with the instruction to …show more content…
The work he produces in therapy has improved significantly, as he is able to produce legible handwriting in and outside the classroom. Dominic’s occupational therapist will be discharging him from occupational therapy, as well as declassifying him. His general education teacher reports that he is meeting grade level expectations in most academic areas. Furthermore, he interacts appropriately with his teachers and classmates. Overall, Dominic is a student who is functioning well academically and socially. As a result of the information gathered, the following recommendations can be
There was a tingle that rushed through his entire body when he first touched it. He felt as if he was being watched without him knowing it. He quickly picked it up and tucked it under his armpit so none of the other students would see. He then, with tremoring arms and hands, headed back to his seat. He didn’t care if his teacher asked him about it.
Rigel was asked if he wanted to participate in a touching activity. He had answered yes. The teacher had Rigel to sit next to the blue tray. She then took out a container with pink starburst flubber. The teacher had Rigel take the flubber out of the container and had him place the flubber onto his tray.
It was a warm and sunny morning during August, it was only the first week of school at McDole Elementary, I was in 1st grade. Mrs.Olma my teacher was walking us back from a bathroom break. Eventually when we were in the classroom she told us to sit down because she had something very important to say to the whole class. She made sure everyone in the classroom was paying attention to her. "There is supposed to be a fire drill today about now," Mrs.Olma explained.
The student was then fed up and decided to move his seat away from Peter. Peter then was sitting alone for the remainder of lunch. Actions like this affect Peter and his learning and development of relationships due to his negative
In the event that, I record observations of my first leader for one family I provide care for, I have determined that she is in most definitely task oriented. To demonstrate, she prioritizes her daily schedule by following her everyday tasks. First, she has us wake up the kids the same time everyday for school followed by breakfast. Second she preps their lunches for school along with making a weekly grocery list. Then, takes the kids to school and heads to work.
Informal Observation The following observations were observed by me in M’s classroom. The time of the observations neared the end of the Pre-K school year. Observation 1 M colors the square boxes with crayons. He holds the crayon in a collect hand position. M colors the boxes carefully and stays inside the lines.
When Mrs. Hippchen asked the students to raise their hands if they obtained the correct answer to a question, Alina raised her hand. At one point, Alina was called upon to solve a math problem. She incorrectly answered the question, however, with her teacher’s feedback, she was able to correct her answer. Mrs. Hippchen then instructed the class to clear their desks to start a new math activity. Alina followed her teacher’s direction.
Observation 0:05 (Ch.1) Picks up a small cup dipping into water and emptying, she then picks up a smaller container repeating the same action. Ch.1 states “This is a tiny cup, this is tiny cup” She scoops water from small cup into a slightly larger container. Ch.1 observes another child standing to her left complete a similar process. Ch.1 is holding a purple plastic scraper in her left hand. 0:17 (Ch.1) is asked by the Ed.
I arrived at school this morning. My teacher for second period is Mrs Lindskov. Mrs Lindskov told us to sit quietly and get our notebooks and pencils ready for class. We all sat down quietly and prepared for class. Mrs Lindskov told us we were going to do a quick presentation about how to write a short story about a walk.
Her instruction was to move the chairs as fast as possible to the other side of the table. The chairs were still placed the same on top of one another upside down. Subject three was hair was confused how to put the chairs together for a second. She was told to move the chairs fast but her behavior was not fast, she got nervous so she did not move them as fast as she could go.
Same as every day. The same routine for years. All the students filed into their classrooms. Shaun took a seat at his squeaky desk. He patiently waited for his horrible teacher to walk in.
Remembering this day so vividly, I gingerly skipped into room twenty four, like I did everyday, ready to learn my new spelling word list, ready to multiply and divide numbers, and prepared to continue cursive writing with reading teacher, Mr. Kline. Nonetheless, before leaving for school that cold, autumn morning, my mom had scribbled me a note that allowed me to leave school early to go to my doctor's appointment at 1 o’clock. Lunch had just finished and I looked up at the clock as the secretary Mrs. Ferrari joyfully called over the intercom asking for me to walk down to the office to meet my mother. Although, Mrs. Ross called my name and wished for me to speak to her before I left. I stuffed my books, folders, and homework into my backpack, making it almost as heavy as an anchor and before leaving, made my way across the room, over to Mrs. Ross’
This process happened three times with the three different classes of the fifth grade. The next time I went to observe the students were working on research
She seems avoiding sitting with the teacher. In the literacy class, the teacher explains facts and opinions. She used the blackboard to write. Student M starts taking notes on the workbook from the blackboard.
