During the book The Other Wes Moore the author proves that good parenting will ultimately decide a child's future, This can lead to two vastly different life styles for both the author and the other Wes Moore. The book is written by Wes Moore and tells a story about two boys nearly the same age, live relatively close to each other, and have the same name. As a result of Parenting the main character Wes had gotten himself into a lot of trouble at school. This would eventually lead to his Mother making the rational decision of sending him to Valley Forge Military Academy. “The final straw came one evening while she sat downstairs on the phone listening to my dean from riverdale explaining why they were placing me on disciplinary, and academic
One afternoon, Amanda was spotted by her former teacher, Ms. Tiny, who acquired questions about Amanda’s well-being, truancy, and personal care. Unsatisfied with the answer that Amanda
The author of Jasper Jones, Craig Silvey and the directors of Stranger Things, Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer, hook their audiences using a variety of techniques. Through the use of plot structure and pacing, characterisation, and stylistic devices, both creators capture and keep the attention of their audiences. The aspects of plot structure and pacing are taken into account to capture the attention of the audience from the very beginning of both texts. Jasper Jones is chronological as Charlie reveals his story as the events unfold, unlike Stranger Things, where the story is unchronological and follows many story lines that eventually converge.
“At that moment, I realized the journey I took was never mine alone either”(171). The Other Wes Moore was about two kids that lived in the same neighborhood that had the same name. They both went to different schools but did similar things. Both had difficult times with there family and with school. Similarities and differences pertaining to Education and family issues of both Moores were described in The Other Wes Moore.
At the beginning of Montana 1948, Wes was described as a “man who tried to turn two ways at once” (9). He showed his ability to stand up for what was right when he puts aside his familial relationship with Uncle Frank to explain, “‘This is a legal matter’” (108). Grandpa Hayden, somebody who is supposed to nurture and care for his family, is willing to attack one son in order to save the other, and David sees Wes Hayden’s place in the family and how he is trying to make something more of himself than Frank Hayden’s

In the short story, “Long, Long After School” by Ernest Buckler, it becomes apparent that Wes Holman’s emotional strength was formed after he struggles through conflicts. Firstly, much of his emotional strength was formed due to the amount of bullying in his past. This bullying has led him to create a barrier between him and others. Specifically, Wes was known as a tough guy to the narrator, suggesting an emotional barrier. “Perhaps you remember how the kids used to tease me at school” (Buckler 113), Wes said to the narrator.
What makes a man different then a guy? Some people would say the difference is age or smartness, but Dave Barry wrote an article describing what he thought the major differences are. Dave Barry’s article is called “Guys vs. Men.” His article says that guys are interested in neat stuff, like pointless challenges, and do not have a ridged and well-defined moral code. Barry’s article can relate to Wes Moore’s book called The Other Wes Moore.
The Plot to me was great other then the end ( I will get to the end ). The First event was about Bobby, who wakes up for school, gets out of bed from under the electric blanket and goes to takes a shower in the dark because Bobby says it’s like an extra fifteen minutes of sleep. When he gets out of the shower and turns on the light, Bobby’s there but not there. I think the storyline is great because they really connect well with each other, like when Bobby turns invisible and goes downstairs to tell his parents Mr. and Mrs. Phillips that work at the University of Chicago near them as teachers about Bobby being invisible, They freak out in fear then shock.
Have you ever thought about how the things you do now could affect you forever? What about the people you hang out with? The Other Wes Moore shows how the things you do or people you spend time with in your childhood can affect you forever. The book addresses many problems that two people, both named Wes Moore, face throughout their lives. In The Other Wes Moore the different people and decisions in both the Wes Moore’s lives ultimately lead to two different fates.

“The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences”. Chris McCandless was an adventurous young man who decided to go into the wild to find a deeper meaning in life. Many people believe he was insane for leaving behind his privileged life for the wild, but all he was doing was following his dreams. I believe that Chris McCandless’ was a brave young man, he wasn't selfish or a reckless person.
Into the Wild Life in the wild is not for everyone, as Chris McCandless himself proved. In the novel Into the Wild Chris was driven by anger and curiosity; always enjoyed nature and the outdoors. His family was one of the reasons why he chose to isolate himself from the real world, he needed to experience new feelings other than the hatred he’s had throughout his entire life. On his journey he was able to accomplish a number of things: peace of mind, travel, and write a book. What Chris did not expect was for him to die on his journey, but rather have it help him grow and gain new experiences.
I walked into class after just having lunch and handed Ms.Greer my paragraph. She told me it would be 15 points off for being late. I told her I hand a good excuse as to why it was late. She said she doubted it was possible, but agreed to listen to my reason. Boy have I got a story for her, I thought to myself.
