The company I chose to discuss is Chick-Fil-A, Dan Cathy is the current President and CEO. Chick-Fil-A’s mission statement explains what they value and what their commitment is to the community. According to the Chick-Fil-A website “For the past 66 years, we have built a foundational commitment to service – service to our customers, service to our franchised Restaurant Operators and their Team Members, and service to our communities. This begins in the restaurant – one customer at a time. We firmly believe in treating every person who comes through our doors with honor, dignity, and respect. Dan Cathy has built his company on several principles or values. He believes in community service, as well as the service that they provide for their customers. He is an Evangelical Christian and believes in strong biblical teachings. He has mentioned before that the company’s success is due to his family and other families that have supported Chick-Fil-A throughout the years. He also owed that success with being married to their first wives, referring to himself and his family. When he gives recognition to other families that have helped with Chick-fil-A’s success he highlighted “the biblical family”. He has a strong stance against gay rights. He emphasized biblical values in regards to discussing gay rights in 2012. Chick-fil-A is one of the few restaurant super chains that is closed on Sunday.
