“The Express” is a true story about Syracuse University football player Ernie Davis, the first African-American football player to win the coveted Heisman Trophy. Ernie Davis is an African American lived with his extended family in Pennsylvania. He grew up with his uncle Will Davis, who has same age as Ernie. I think there are two reasons why Syracuse University erected the statue of Ernie Davis. First of all, Ernie contributed a lot into football career life. He not only did an excellent job, but also he made a significant and effective impact on African American society. There are different types of discriminatory established practices, rules, concepts, beliefs, and laws happen in several countries and societies in any part of the world. Individuals should have the right to equal treatment and chances, not to experience any form of discrimination or cruelty. Watching the movie “The express,” I realized people must find courage within themselves in order to face and overcome the obstacles of discrimination.
In life, there are many different people who have very different backgrounds and upbringings. Which can lead to a wide variety of answers to questions, much like the ones that were used here. Two participants were interviewed to find out some of their past and see how that affects them today when they think of diversity. While some differences between Makenna Trumbles' and Kris Bradleys' answers are noticeable, the similarities are pronounced. Trumbles' and Bradleys' answers were the same when it came to several questions.

So, Ernie graduated from high school and committed to Syracuse University to play football and to further his education. Ernie was one of the few African Americans to attend Syracuse and also one of the few to play a sport at Syracuse. Ernie couldn’t play football his freshman year because this was a rule at this time in the 1950’s and 60’s. The next year Ernie started as the halfback for the Syracuse Orangemen. In his sophomore year in 1960, Ernie rushed for 686 yards on 98 carries and 10 touchdowns and on route to win the national championship and Heisman trophy.
There is diversity when it comes to race, age, and education. For example, my manager is a lady of color, and my assistant manager is Hispanic. All the employees ages ranges from 45 to 23 to 19, and more ages in between. Finally, our education is different. I am the only one in college while the rest of the employees were finished after high school.
