Harding, Coolidge and Hoover all were putting in their best efforts to make the country better. Each of them had a different way of going about helping the country. For example, Harding supported baby-care centers while Hoover supported more ecological friendly thing. Neither are right or wrong, different presidents have different things they want to improve on. Warren Harding was president from 1921-1923. His term ended early when he died while all vacation. Before being president he was a Senator in Ohio. When Harding was elected he has Herbert Hoover in his cabinet and Calvin Coolidge as his Vice President. Some of Harding’s decisions as to who to appoint in the government with him did not please the people of the United States. Harding supported the Sheppard-Town Act. This act, “funded prenatal and baby-care centers staffed by public health nurses” (661). Coolidge was very old fashion and was careful when making decisions. Coolidge gained a lot of support from the public due to magazine articles and advertisements. Coolidge did not believe in giving much government assistance to anyone struggling. This lead to the McNary-Haugen Bill. This stated that the government had to purchase a surplus of crops and the sell the crops overseas. Coolidge vetoed this and did not agree with the bill. Coolidge believed that people should not have much assistance from the government and should be hard working. Coolidge and Harding both agreed on one thing. The did not think it was best for the United States to become part of the League of Nations. Coolidge did however believe that the United States should join the International Court of Justice. The congress did not agree with this and therefore the United States stayed out of the International Court of

Calvin Coolidge was president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. Calvin was born on July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. John, his father, was a farmer who worked in the Vermont House of Representatives and the state and with other local offices. He helped his father sell apples and doing chores around the store and at the farm. His mother, Victoria, died when was was twelve and his sister Abigail died several years later.

Among important Republican supporters he had the help of women, progressives internationals, the new business elites, and corporate interests party regulars grudgingly supported Hoover,but they never trusted him. Herbert Hoover was the 31st president of the United States (1929–1933), He was well known by the stock market crash of 1929 and the beginnings of the Great Depression. Hoover was a republican. He ran his campaign Promising to bring continued peace and prosperity to the nation. He made history at his time when he became president he crushed Democratic candidate Alfred E. Smith (1873-1944), the governor of New York, by 444-87 electoral votes. All eyes were on him when he stepped up to the job.
Presidents of Progressive Era During the Progressive Era, America society experienced immense changes in regards to business, politics, ethnic. Taking on the huge responsibilities, the presidents of that period, Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Woodrow Wilson, actively worked toward equality and social justice. Following by the assassination of President McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, at his middle age with an exuberant personality, succeeded to the office. He was a preservationist, a trustbuster, promoting “Square Deal” and food safety policies. However, his major contribution to the era was on railroad regulation which eliminated corruption in interstate commerce.
Even after Japan attacked in the pacific Roosevelt still tried to stay neutral and not get involved much, but later on Germany and France were battling it out a big part of WW2. Roosevelt didn’t want to help the allies but once Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii a warning was given to Japan and then the US finally decided to get involved with WW2. The allies were Britain and the Soviet Union, the reason why the Soviets joined was only because the US agreed to help them with fighting off Germany. Being a President during WW2 says it all, FDR did a great job even though he didn't accomplish his original idea of isolationism. FDR also had post war plans before his death that were world peace and order(U-S-HISTORY).
As Coolidge himself once said, “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. The ability to persist in all of life’s endeavours demonstrates an individual's strength and morale during difficult times. Through leadership and even in my daily life, I had to endure through battles such as right vs wrong, and fight vs. flight. However, valuing integrity, just like Calvin Coolidge did in the Autobiography of Calvin Coolidge, is what is most important in becoming a true leader. Persistence can come in many forms, depending on what one chooses to persist in.

Three examples of the reversal of Progressive reforms in the 1920s is the Republicans serving the public through cooperation’s and big businesses, public resources being exploited for profit, and the U.S. going back to their traditional foreign policy. 2.) The U.S. tariff policies in the 1920s created long-term and global problems in the sense that since the U.S. increased their tariffs the other countries did the same to us and hurt the American goods while also hurting the products of European countries. 3.)
He believed that it was the people’s responsibility to get themselves out of the depression since they got themselves into the mess in the first place. President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the other hand would interact with the people of America during the depression, FDR would actually get on the radio every week and talk to the people about what he had planned for them. The New Deal was FDR’s plan and It was designed to give people their jobs back and reduce the amount of the unemployed people in the U.S. However, the New Deal wasn’t specific on how it’d give the jobs back in fact the New Deal actually catered to white people, black people were stripped of their jobs and were replaced by white people.
The transition between presidents Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt marked the transformation from a weak, to a strong form of government, which became directly involved in the lives of the people. This was primarily caused by the difference in the executive leaders ideologies, where Hoover was more focused on individual responsibility and capitalism, Roosevelt was more concerned with immediate action based on government intervention. Overall, the New Deal sacrificed the amount of personal responsibility that the people had with their own economic security. The power of the federal government was strengthened, but the long-lasting effects based on the social and economic policies was beneficial for the United States. Herbert Hoover began
President Herbert Hoover made efforts to try to fix the great depression. Many people disliked him as a president and complained he didn’t even care. However he at least tired to help people recover from the great depression. Some policies he created were the Hoover Moratorium, the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932, and the Great New Deal. Hoover created the Hoover Moratorium to end the war debts however it didn’t help with the economic crisis.
Roosevelt’s idea was almost the exact opposite he believed that it should be the government's responsibility to get the people out of this crisis. Today we are still reaping the benefits of Roosevelt's new deal such as social security act, National Youth Administration and many more that helped us get out of the deepest depression this country has ever
