The purpose of Elie Wiesel clearly stated in the novel called “The Night” is to aware people of this event that occurred toward Jews so they won’t create the same mistakes and ignore something that was so cruel. Elie Wiesel’s purpose is to aware people of what happened to Jews because many Jew’s refused to believe what they were being told about the Nazis which then resulted in a tragedy because of their ignorance. The author Elie Wiesel clearly states, “Day after day, night after night, he went from one Jewish house to the next, telling his story and that of Malka, the young girl who lay dying for three days, and that of Tobie, the tailor who begged to die before his sons were killed” (7). In addition, this shows that when people hear exaggerated things they tend …show more content…
In other words, this shows that when people hear things that are to unrealistic to be true they infer its false and they don’t try to confirm if it’s accurate or false. This is because sometimes people just don’t want to believe that something so cruel or abstract can’t occur. In the book “The Night” Elie Wiesel coveys, “The people were saying, “The Red Army is advancing with giant strides . . . Hitler will not able to harm us, even if he wanted to . . .” Yes, we even doubted his resolve to exterminate us. Annihilate an entire people? Wipe out a population dispersed throughout so many nations? So many millions of people! By what means? In the middle of the twentieth century!” (8). This reveals that when people hear something that doesn’t seem correct to be true they assume it’s incorrect because they don’t believe that humans are so cruel to do something towards others that will harm them and create no good for everyone. This also reveals that some people are so ignorant that they don’t want to even think or believe that humans can hurt other humans and do harm to their own human
In the preface of “Night” a book and memoir about the holocaust, by Elie Wiesel, he writes that he doesn’t know or no longer knows what he meant to achieve by writing the memoir. Earlier in the preface we are informed that the reason he began writing “night” was because he believed that he left the camps alive by chance, and that he didn’t deserve it more than anybody else thrown into German concentration camps. After realizing this he didn’t want to waste what he had and because of that he immediately set pen to paper and began writing a book that would bring its writer the nobel peace prize. But what did he achieve in this book?
Themes in a story help to describe what the book is about. It does this in the book Night by helping describe what World War 2 was like for the Jews. It also helps to see what the people in the camps went through. My two themes from night are imprisonment and survival. The first one I will talk about is imprisonment, then i’ll talk about survival.
Night Essay In the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, Wiesel has to face one of the biggest challenges that he will ever have to come across with in his whole life. Elie Wiesel was born on September 30, 1928, in Sighet, Romania, Elie pursued his Jewish religion studies before his family was forced to attend a Nazi “Work Camp” (death camp) during WWII. In May 1944, the Nazis gathered millions of Jewish citizens including 15-year-old Wiesel and his family to Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland. The tragic events that occurred in the memoir Night are considered a genocide because the SS Nazi army soldiers started to deliberately kill all Jewish citizens and they only killed them because they were Jewish and they hated Jewish folks, the Nazis wanted to become superior nation.

When I was done reading “I Remember Night Remembering Elie Wiesel,” I found out that the author (Clemantine Wamariya) took action after reading Night. The author took action about hate.

“ … The world has had to hear a story it would have preferred not to hear - the story of how a cultured people turned to genocide, and how the rest of the world, also composed of cultured, remained silent in the face of genocide.” - Elie Wiesel. The man behind that quote is one of the few people in the world to survive one of the worst tragedies in human history, The Holocaust. At the start of Night Elie Wiesel's emotions went from Disbelief to Afraid. For example, at the start of the book “Night” on page 32, he said " I pinched myself: was I still alive? Was I awake? How was it possible that men, women, and children were being burned and that the world kept silent? My evidence supports my claim because at the start of the book Elie Wiesel is disbelief because he doesn't even know if he is really living or if it is a dream.
When Elie Wiesel was liberated from the Buchenwald concentration camp in April 1945, he decided to wait for ten years before writing his memoirs of the Holocaust. Night Literary Analysis Many people have written about their horrific experiences during the Holocaust, as there are many different stories to be told. But when Elie Wiesel wrote Night, he did not hold back on many details. He was very vivid with his grave memories. In Night, Elie Wiesel uses metaphors, repetition, and symbolism to indicate the unmeasurable amount of unnecessary pain, suffering, fear, and horror that had taken place. He wanted to exhibit that during this time, he was witness to many unspeakable crimes and horrors.
This excerpt is relevant to Wiesel’s biggest fear which is that the world has not learned or has simply forgotten about the Holocaust. The line “Never shall I forget…” (Wiesel, 34) is reiterated to show how important remembering is to Wiesel. This also pertains to Wiesel 's “big idea” which is that his purpose for writing Night was to never let anyone forget about the Holocaust. He hopes that this memoir helps prevent another genocide like this, and helps motivate people to stand up to injustices.
