Andrew Jacksons’ parents immigrated from Ireland to the harsh Carolina frontiers in the 1760s.They came to the states so they could escape the poverty in Ireland, but it turned out to be equally as hard for them here. Jackson was never able to meet his father because he died while his mother was pregnant, that left him with his mom and his two older brothers to fend for themselves.
