They had to break the news to their children that even though it would be a very fun adventure to go and enjoy the new amusement park advertised on TV, that they couldn’t go because it’s only for white people. And they were treated completely different from all other people just because of the color of their skin. Every one of these examples shows a society that is being diminished by social disruption. King Jr. was all about causing nonviolent tension to resolve issues. He did this because that way the issue would be dramatized and couldn’t be ignored anymore.

Demonstrating how although their actions seem to be anarchistic since the movement “disrupted” the order by peacefully protesting in the streets of Birmingham, their intentions are beneficial for the African American community rather than a malicious movement. Along with his position as the leader of the SCLC, he is an African American referring to an issue affecting exclusively the African American community. In Document. 4, King shows how his followers will not stop until every school has been integrated. He says, “ Let us march on segregated until every vestige of segregation and inferior education becomes a thing of the past and Negroes and whites study side by side in the socially healing context of the classroom…” in order to conceive whites that all of society will benefit from the integration of school and other public facilities. One of the first accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was his founding and presidency of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The SCLC is a civil rights group that focused on desegregating the south. The group's first focus was on desegregating the bus system, but they eventually moved on to greater things such as registering blacks to vote and organizing peaceful protests. This proves that King was a successful civil rights leader, even though he struggled against racists whites in power that would try to oppress him and his group.

While Mr. King was in Memphis for that trip in 1968, a man shot him on a balcony outside of his motel room.
