The issue of gun violence has plagued the United States for years. Recently, gun violence has risen even higher than in the past. Mass shootings have increased, and more people have been killed in shootings than ever before. The debate over the need for stricter gun control laws has been a hot topic of discussion for a long time. Mass shootings leave communities and individuals traumatized. Families are left devastated and will have to live with the feeling of having to put a loved one into the ground. It can take years for a community to recover from a mass shooting and some may never fully recover, and individuals are left traumatized for their entire life. There is no reason that someone should be able to own a firearm of such high caliber, such as an AR-15. These high-caliber weapons are the main weapons responsible for these mass shootings in America. Other restrictions that can be put into place to ensure the safety of American citizens are the limiting of high-capacity magazines and the implementation of universal background checks. The first way we can stop gun violence is we need to Educate people more about gun safety and how to use them when you are in danger.
