Betrayal Affects Everyone In the tragedy Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Mark Antony uses verbal irony, figurative language, and rhetorical questions to propose emotional appeal to the audience throughout his speech. During the speech, Antony uses verbal irony to continuously describe Brutus as an “honorable man” to the citizens, making them reconsider their beliefs against Brutus.
