In this setting the church primary goal was presented which declares, that we seek to “develop spiritual mature warrior for Christ:” through connecting to God, connecting to each other, and connecting to serve this present age. Following the church goal several questions were presented to the leadership team to brainstorm about. For instance, how healthy are we as a church? On a scale from 1-10 where would you rate yourself spiritually? What are the diseases in our church? How healthy are we as a church? Where is our church sick and in poor health? Once the ice was broken, leaders begin to open up and answer can pouring out like a rushing might river. Here’s a sampling of the responses from that day. I have done my part through attending worship.
Bethel Baptist Church never encountered a challenge like this before. The church accepted an invitation to participate in a mission in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Making an appearance in a foreign environment terrified both adolescents and adults. Even with those uneasy feelings, the congregation quickly zeroed in on the goal at hand in spreading God’s love to this needy region. With events such as church cleanup, food ministry, and disaster relief, the church left with a greater appreciation of life, and how lucky many of the citizens in the United States truly are.
The only compliance we have is to the Will of God, mission and commission that Christ has put us under. We have been commissioned to go tell it”-Pastor Jimmy J. Wilson 1. What should our church be known for in this community? 2. What services do your church offer?
Leading with Soul is both an inspiring book and a guide for becoming a better leader. The book alternates between telling the story of a leader who is striving to find meaning in his work, and regular interludes, which include summaries, reflective questions, and information regarding various spiritual philosophies. I was exposed to dimensions of leadership I had never previously considered. This paper will reflect upon how Leading with Soul helped me understand the spiritual nature of leadership, identify strategies for nurturing the spiritual side of my own leadership, expand my capacity for assisting others during challenging times, and increase my compassion while working with difficult others.
Atlantic Cape Community College Church After Several Years Amina Holliday Reflection Paper 10/27/2015 Abstract I always knew church was where people was to worship God but I didn’t understand why people had put so much faith into the pastor.

This is a reflection on Larry Osbornes book, Sticky Church, I did read the entire book. I have enjoyed it and would recommend it. Summary Many churches think they are doing well with all their new visitors and slight rise in attendance.
Data Collection Procedures The population for this replicate study will be defined as all pastors, chairmen of the board, and lay board members in the Wesleyan Church throughout the United States. The target population for this replicative study is defined as all pastors, vice-chairman of the board, and lay board members of the 147 Wesleyan Churches in the state of Michigan. The Sacred Heart Goals express gratitude and faithfulness towards God and Christianity, just as the Prophet Daniel had done so in his time. Daniel lives out the first of the five Sacred Heart Goals, “A Personal and Active Faith in God.” This goal has a strong focus on recognising the importance of showing love, faith and compassion for Jesus Christ and God through prayer and reflection. Daniel had a “Personal and Active Faith in God” which he demonstrated successfully through his faithfulness towards God, Christianity and most importantly his people. Daniel’s personal and active faith was conveyed through his significant messages and visions that had important meanings and warnings for the future.
The overall educational ministry of the congregation is functional and benefits the majority. The Christian Education Committee takes the time to listen to the concerns of the community and asks for feedback on activities, so that activities may be edited for spiritual growth and expanding knowledge of religion. By listening to the concerns of the congregation and being knowledgeable of the needs of the community, FCCNH promotes spiritual growth through transmitting the tradition, applying faith to lives, and promoting social transformation. The committee at times becomes preoccupied with becoming irrelevant or exclusive. It is important that the activities of the church hold meaning for its congregants.
Followership Plan Once DHS has hired new leaders, it will be imperative that they understand and respect the power of their team. Leaders will need to work with their followers in order to develop a cohesive strategy which supports DHS in carrying out its vision. Inclusive leadership “emphasizes doing things with people, rather than to people” and this strategy of Inclusive leadership will be critical in motivating a workforce in which only 26 percent of the employees believe that creativity and innovation are rewarded and only 39.8 percent believe their managers promote communication among different work units (Hollander, 2009, p. 3) (Help Wanted at DHS, 2013, p. 3).
One of the youth leaders says how he shows the youth to live a responsible and righteous life around God which shows us how we adapt to current needs by understanding each other’s positions in how we live in today’s world. We are meant to worship God not individually or silently but rather as a group. We have to be as involved as possible in understanding the rites and prayers that they part in. I observed this when everyone in the service was voluntarily singing along with each other as a community. The choir was singing in harmony with the lead singer and the rest of the community and they offered themselves to God to take their faithfulness and acceptance of
In this field observation I attended a catholic mass of a friend’s church. I was born in a Christian family and never thought that I would ever attend a Sunday catholic mass. I only have one friend who still attends a church, a catholic church. I attended this mass with my friend Paul and his family who are Pilipino. Paul was nice enough to let come to his church to be an observer and a bit of a participant.
“One of the most widely known symbols of the Christian faith is the cross. It is a figure formed by two intersecting lines. In this version (the Latin, or Roman Catholic cross) the vertical line is longer than the horizontal line” (McClymond, 102). The horizontal line is placed slightly higher than the center of vertical. Individuals within the San Antonio community revere the cross in the same way as most others around and abroad do.
During the interview with Timothy Hughes, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, many difficult and probing questions were asked to discover the heart of his decision making process. The pastor, making himself available for this interview answered with much openness and transparency revealing how he makes decisions regarding a variety of issues. In regards to fear and its impact on his decision making, one could ascertain that this pastor uses acknowledgement of his fear to provide balance in this process. Decision made in regards to sermon preparation time is deemed to vary as he tries to “utilize a variety of sermon methodology or sermon preparation.”
As I stepped out of my car, I acknowledge that the church was surrounded by trees, which gave it a calming and peaceful sensation, the building was long with a triangular shaped form, with burgundy bricks surroundings and a bit of white in the front entrance and some at the very top and sides with a dark beige roofing to give the church some color, the windows seemed to be a tinted crystal glass that was designed with blues and a beige color. As I made my way into the church their was an entry room where a man and a women and what seemed to be their two children greeted me and handed me a pamphlet that described what was going to take place in that days Sunday school and mass, then I made my way to another pair of doors where I could hear the choir singing, as I opened the doors the inside of the church was a tan wood looking color all around and had matching tan benches with burgundy red bedding to match the carpet, the thing that stood out most to me when I walked in was the large cross that was in the very front that shined very bright as if the sun was hitting it to give the whole church light, when I looked below the cross, the choir was singing and beside it was a women playing a piano with so much passion and in front of them was a the pastors book stand also a matching tan color with his bible. The people were very kind as I sat down next to a friend that attends that church, they welcomed me with open arms and talked a bit about them self’s and the amount of time
