• I learned that many decisions that are needed to me made during the complex emergency situations such as fund-raising, budgets, division of labor and duty, service delivery, logistics, prioritizing and evaluating the need of help according to the limited resources, areas, the terms , population etc. • According to my observation during the simulation, I learned that most of the actors make decision in complex emergency situation by Group decision making which has both advantages and disadvantages. The strength points are there will be more information, more alternatives, increased understanding and greater commitment but the weak points are the conformity with social pressures, sometimes domination by a few members and time delays. Overall, I insist my support towards the group decision making among the teamwork because it is what I and my colleagues did. For example, if Lowes head manager tells each of its workers that they are going to only serve people who ask for help because he is tired of seeing time wasted. This manager is only going by his side of things. While step 7 is implemented it is not successfully used. While being used in the Lowes manner, “Implementing the Decision” as team to allow each hardware section to decide whether to ask each customer they see if they “need help,” or wait for the customers to ask the employees. Allowing for each team member to change methods and accomplish step 8 by “Evaluating the Decision.”
Emergency management describes the process of preparing for disasters, responding to their occurrence and putting in place both structural and nonstructural measures to mitigate against them. Emergency management has come a long way in terms of evolution in the United States of America. In terms of evolution, there have been a number of changes with evidence in shift from state to federal and local involvement in disaster management. This paper will thus discuss the evolution of emergency management as well as the lessons that have come as a result of this evolution. The evolution can be traced back to the biblical times, Moses himself tried to manage floods by splitting the Red Sea (George et al, p. 1).
The overall semester definitely had its up’s and downs . As a Peer Mentor I have learned to appreciate my hardwork much more and also learned that speaking up a lot is key to key action to many things. One of my goals for the semester as a Peer Mentor was to get to know my peer mentees on a friendship level or maybe as acquaintances. That goal actually came true in a way because I only made three acquaintances only. Another goal I had throughout the semester was to go outside of my comfort zone a little, I really didn 't like to talk in front of the class.
1.1 Introduction In today’s environment, the ownership is on us, as an individual to take responsibility for our own development, rather than expecting our organization to do it for us. The question, which always ponders over mind is does my personal skills suits to today’s dynamic world? If not, how do I move forward? Hence, the starting point is to introspect, retrospect and do an evaluation through self-assessment tools in order to know myself, strengths and limitations and my ability to perform in dynamic roles in the business environment.
INTRODUCTION The word ‘team’ can be defined as a group of people working together towards a common goal. A team also generally is known as a group of people with different skills and different tasks, who works together on a common project, services, or goal. Then, the important thing in teamwork is ‘collaboration’, which is the act of working effectively with others to achieve a common goal. Collaboration acts as the lifeblood in the team, even the team is not large enough, but the collaboration is required.
The dictionary definition of teamwork is: 'the process of working collaboratively with a group of people to achieve a common goal. ' Our world runs largely on interdependence. Companies today know that effective products or services need multiple skills to be created and therefore better solutions, services, or products depend on better teamwork. More and more organizations nowadays assess teamwork skills before recruitment, yet our education has very rarely helped us to develop teamwork skills.
Psychology is defined as “the scientific study of the mind and behavior” (Introduction to Psychology, 2015). Psychology provides an overview of biology and behavior, sensation and perception, learning, memory, intelligence, language, motivation, emotion, abnormal psychology, and therapy (PSY 102 Course Syllabus, 2018, pg 1). Because psychology allows for a better understanding of how the mind and body work, this knowledge can be beneficial for any field of study or career. The theoretical and practical understanding of the basics of psychology can help with decision-making, critical thinking, stress management, time management, better understanding of others, improving communication, and even achieving goals and objectives, all components that allow someone to be more successful throughout their life. Throughout this course I hope to gain a greater understanding of historical and theoretical perspectives of human behavior and development (PSY 102 Course Syllabus, 2018, pg 2).
My job at the foodlion grocery store in Roebuck was an unenjoyable working experience to say the least. When I first began working at Foodlion the job was fun and I enjoyed it but as time went on it got worse and worse. As time went on the longer I worked there the more disrespectful my co-workers and supervisors got.

Critically reflect on how one or two insights gained during Personal Development and Skills Practice (in G108353 2017/18) have prepared you to become an aware and ethical user of counselling skills. Does a counsellor’s age matter? This is a question I have been considering throughout my time on this course and the answer is not straightforward. Within this essay I will critically reflect on my insight about age and counselling, and through doing this how it has prepared me to become more of an aware and ethical user of counselling skills. Van Wagoner (1991) says Therapist self-insight refers to the extent to which a therapist is aware of one’s own feelings and understands their basis.
In this part I will review myself, about what have I done and what can I do, so I can be closer to my vision. As I have mentioned in my current situations I have strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threats. My strategy is that I want to maintain my strength, overcome my weaknesses and threats and take advantage of the opportunity. My strengths are my calm and observant personality.
