Professional reflection As I began my field experience journey, I learned many roles and responsibilities as elementary teacher. My duration in the field was nine weeks. I began training at E. R. Dickson. I developed a great working relationship with the staff and parents in the community. I always knew teaching is my passion. It is my responsibility to be organized, willing to work well with others, takes initiative, and having a positive attitude. During my time in the field, I had a pleasure of working with 3rd graders. I learned to be a long life learner. Everyday, I was challenged my students to learn something new. It was important to me to make a difference. Throughout my training, I implemented various strategies for engaging students in small groups and rigorous lessons. My role as a teacher is to communicate effectively, be respectful, and have self-worth and confidence. I did fear making wrong choices throughout this field experience. I set high expectations the students to achieve high goals. Teaching to me opened doors to many students’ lives. I learned their cultures and backgrounds. I learned classroom procedures, routines, and. R. Dickson rules. I worked in the self-contain classroom. I provided opportunities to work with all students. I peer tutored with students. I participated in several school meetings. After working with students in small groups, I evaluated my mini lesson for student improvement. My students were able to work independently, collaboratively, and utilize feedback from other peers. This taught me to reflect on advantages and disadvantaged of the lessons

Enabling Professionalism reflection This is a reflection on continuing professional and personal development in practice. This reflection is to allow me to improve profeesionally with supportive, evidence based literature and to enable me to evaluate the impact my professional behaviour as a student and future midwife. My learning need is to focus on the importance of professional behaviour when on placement and working with women, their families and members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
Curentley, I believe that I have had my biggest take away during these sessions. Being in middle schools students are no longer in the same environment for the entire day, instead students change classes for different periods of the day. I also had the opportunity of experiencing different forms of teaching, by spending some time in different options in addition to my placement in humanaties. Throughout my time, so far, working with Miss. Giannotti’s class at the elementary school, I have been given a wide range of jobs and responsibilities. I’ve been given tasks that range anywhere from interacting with the children, such as leading in games and reading stories, to things that are inherently teacher-like responsibilities, such as making copies and creating a bulletin board. Of the things I’ve done in the time I’ve been with my class so far, many of them I’ve enjoyed, even, to my surprise, the seemingly mundane jobs. I love interacting with the kids. One of my favorite, and most common, jobs is to sit at a yellow table in the corner and help the students as they come to me with questions.
During this unit we learned about our individuality and how it individual develop an in our society. We were also taught about how people are treated in our culture based on their life styles. In this unit we spoke about many different things such as; power, privilege and what social justice advocates are. Understanding these things will help you become a better peer educator, which is why we were taught them. These understand what these things are don’t just help us with peer educating, it helps us understand our society as well.
Furthermore, I had the opportunity to reveal test scores upon completion of their assessment test. I was also responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance for students recommending courses and determining appropriate education solutions for different types of students. I was especially touched by the unique experiences when I had the opportunity to translate information from English to Spanish. There were students who did not speak English, but did not let that deter them from seeking a better opportunity; instead, they allowed that to become motivated. 2K02 Reflection I’ve spent the past two years volunteering with the Hamilton District school board working in the classroom children. Last year I worked with grade one class and this year I have worked with the grade 6 students. My role each year has been to work with the students need extra help an extra time to complete their work. When I have found is that although these students can’t keep up in the regular classroom with their peers, when given the extra time and support their thought process and ideas bloom in their ideas and the successful side of them shows through.
It is important for me to see things through the students’ eyes as well, working hard to be fair, empathetic and encouraging. I trust in my efforts to maintain high expectations for each and every child by providing him the safe and encouraging environment – to challenge them to reach for their best general knowledge, their self-efficacy, and their ability to absorb and synthesize new information.
Students seemed eager to learn and responsive to the teacher’s directions. Mrs. A demonstrated great classroom control both times I was in her classroom. She had a great rapport with the students and because of this relationship the students respected her. Her lessons were very engaging.
One of the unique aspects of the Department of Child Development and Family Relations is that many of the department’s large core courses offer teaching assistant opportunities to undergraduate students. Teaching assistant opportunities are valuable for undergraduate students to decide whether to apply as a graduate teaching position, great addition to a resume, and for a letter of recommendation. From my teaching assistant experience, I was able to fully grasp the concepts of middle childhood development, form a new appreciation for professors and teaching assistants, and reflect on myself as a student. As the teacher we see the day to day of the class and we are there to advocate to ensure that our organization meets the children’s needs. I evaluate what changes are needed within the environment. I also analyze academic goals; in accordance with lesson plans to assure the goals and lesson plans are progressing. My greatest contribution thus far has been behavior progress monitoring; being able to share this process organization wide and implement new accommodations and replacement behaviors
The students were highly engaged. I could say that the concepts to be learn were explicitly linked to ELLs’ background experience and past learning. I listened to the teacher’s speech and voice projection, it was appropriate (not too slow, not too fast), and she emphasized the importance of being respectful/active listeners. She ensured that each students had sufficient time to respond to her questions, and clarify if a student seemed confused (regarding the objectives). As the students did the group work, Mrs. Carbone foster noticing.
Over the past one and half month, the class of PDE 502 (Counselling and Career Education) has taught me some major lessons for life in dealing with the clients in response to their emotional needs. The role of a counsellor is not unlike that of a friend where by it is nurtured by being in each other’s company, talking over everyday issues and sharing feelings. However, what sets a counsellor apart is their experience and the ability to apply counselling theories and techniques to assist people in gaining awareness, insight and explore ways of solving their own issues.
I learned a lot about myself as a teacher and how to help these students individually without neglecting the rest of the class while tending to their needs. It wasn't difficult for me to walk by Kiden's desk and praise her for what she was doing, or give her praise during whole group interaction. However, this meat the world to her and boosted her self confidence in the skill and concepts that were being taught. In the same way I was able to help Kiden, I was also able to help Pau and Georgia with the things they needed such as reading the instructions to them one-on-one or checking in on them throughout the assessment just to make sure they were on the right track.
Now days the Professional development is essential for our life, it can provide the drive to progress careers, kept across the industry competitive and, ultimately, can make you more employable. Professional development is something you will do every day of your life without even thinking about it; however, being aware of the development you learned will allow you to record this and develop in a proffessional way. In order to be effectively in work field and your lifetime, it is important that you need to improving your knowledge and skills continually to keep yourself at high levels of professional competence. When I finished my degree at university and go to work area I found difficulty to deal with problems in work field, because the people I met are think in different way from people where I was at university, it is something like to put someone inside box for long time after that you put it in crowded area and he or she has to communicate with these people in order to be up to date for life changes.
