Positive social change becomes a reality with the adherence to mutual social work core values: social justice, respect, reliability, honesty, trust, empathy, competency, and recognition of the importance of human relationships for a healthy life. I believe these values set guidelines for being an effective social worker, where my personal implementation of these core values allowed for success in my interactions with co-workers and clients. When working with clients I find it necessary to treat each individual with the same amount of respect; however, the way in which I interact with clients is specific to that individual, so as to from an initial appointment begin to build rapport. As a professional figure in the field as a CASA, the agency and courts placed a great amount of responsibility that I had a desire and obligation to live up to. Helping clients with intake applications required me to become more familiar with policies and documentations to process cases, which has made me a more competent

Services include child welfare, public health, psychological health, corrections, and community development (Finn 2020). Practice is guided by personal and organisational beliefs about how clients, staff, organisations, and the wider systems ought to behave are embedded in practises and regulations (Pithouse 2019). These ideals reflect the dominant social values in society. The AASW Code of Ethics (2020) outlines the fundamental values and expectations of social work practise. Social justice is a fundamental principle of Australian social work.
The first issue is, Peter appeared to be a very respectful, calm and focus young man contrary to what I read in his notes about him. I started the link work session with an open minded approach but keeping in mind the historical evidence. I quickly understood the historical evidence does not always reflect the present situation. Rogers (1977) humanistic perspective recognises the importance of self-seeking personal growth to concentrate on the service user’s situation 'here and now' rather than on the history of the service users problems. Furthermore, one of the core value of the HCPC code of practice is for social workers to adhere to non-judgemental practice towards service users.
In addition, challenges can arise when there is no commonality in identities or when identities between myself and a client are radically different. In these times, as a social worker who has a degree of power in a relationship with people seeking help, that I must acknowledge to myself that my power can impede on inclusively practicing and remain self-aware (Gelfand, Sullivan, & Steinhouse,

This is due to the experience of stigma, discrimination and disadvantage, even including the mental health professionals. According to the ASWEAS (2012) the values and attitudes identified come from the practice principals that are specific to mental health. These are identified in the “AASW Competency Standards for Mental Health Social Workers”. Social Work-MSW I always received great satisfaction from helping others. I remember at an early age, helping my grandfather with chores that he was no longer able to do for himself. As I got older, my grandfather became more dependent on me. I helped him cook, clean, and made sure he kept her doctor appointments. I truly enjoyed being someone he depended on and confided in, in his last years.
Introduction A social worker is still first and foremost a human being and as such possesses a set of values that govern their lives up until the individual commences practice in the field of social work which has a set of professional principles of its own. These two groups of standards may sometimes collide depending on the individual and the situation. My case study is an example of such an ethical dilemma, and this paper focuses on the implications this could hold for a social worker and ends with a proposed solution.
Hello I 'm Michael Mandich and this is my first year in help desk and my second year at NHS. I enjoy learning to hanging out with friends and playing games online. The reason I joined Help Desk is because I am interested in learning about technology and how it is rapidly changing the world of education. The way I sparked my interest in technology was when I was younger I would disassemble computers, despite the fact that I had no idea what any of it did I would take it apart and put into small piles of components I would probably never use again. What was really important to me was learning about what I was doing.
However, Mr. Webb stated, “if you always follow the rules, never deviate from them, and treat everyone the same, then people will say oh! They are mean or hard, but they are fair”. He also encouraged me to always remain calm no matter the situation. If the client becomes irate, remain calm and eventually, the client will calm down too, and will begin to trust you with their personal information. Doing my volunteer practicum at Union Mission it allowed me to see the need for social workers.

Acceptance is important for social workers to build a meaningful and solid relationship with clients in direct practice. In this reflection paper, I would like to explore three components embedded in the concept of acceptance. The first component is to acknowledge that clients are entitled basic human rights.
